maybe not submission of the night material but very solid showing from maia.

way to lead the fantasy league mooks!

I haven't looked yet at the fantasy points. I'm sure I'm dwelling in the basement.

we'll say ceg is in the basement tonight. :D
  • Once it went to the ground that was it, another submission (choke), good win for maia, I like Nate but he was out classed there.

main card = downhill for me lately...haha

yep, solid showing. i'm satisfied with the show already! :)

indeed. it was a matter of time.

They seriously need to stop showing Gonzaga with the backlighting. It highlights the ridiculous amount of body hair on Gonzaga. Oh well, I still picked him.
  • Power!!! Simply power!!!

Quick fights tonight we might get to see some undercard fights.
  • yeah, two quick finishes...bodes well for a pre-lim or two.

that was some power. the sound from those shots gabriel landed was painful! i was way off on that one. thought it was going to the ground for sure.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Good takedowns from Thomas, Brown really worked the submissions, Thomas did well to get out of the arm bar. Very good first round, fast pace, plenty of action.
  • Wooo Matt Brown!!! Tough guy, worked them submissions well, didn't think it would be a sub win, good fight.
  • matt did well to get through that early pace that thomas set with the body control and takedowns. i thought thomas was going to roll the wrong way on the first armbar atempt but he did well to get out. the second time, he wasn't as lucky.

good fight. i'm glad they showed that one.

i went with the tko. didn't think it would be a sub either, but matt did work well from his back.
  • mclovin'! :D go hazelett! this should be a fun fight to watch.

WOW beautiful jiu jitsu from Hazelett!!

definitely sub of the night potential
  • hell of a fight! both guys threw some wild stuff on the feet and both landed some good ones. looked like tamdan might hurt him early. i didn't think we'd see the ground until the second round maybe...but they went down and it took him a bit of time to get that armbar from the omaplata, but beautiful jui-jitsu once again from dustin. gono cranked mccrory's arm in much the same way, but much quicker and more of a straight trasition into it. tough break for tamdan, he is a talented kid.

so is dustin, though...he's got a very bright future, especially being just 22!

    +1 :)

hey! stephens vs. dos anjos! sweet.

just a great night of fights so far! definitely worth the $45 dollars.

I can't believe Stephens didn't tap from that omoplata. save by the bell
  • rafael is like velcro on stephens in the first. that omaplata at the end was bent about as far as i've seen one in mma. i'm not surprised stephens didn't tap, but i think some people would have! that was painful just watching it!

Good freaking god!! that was an absolutely vicious uppercut!

stephens is crazy! love that running into the fence.

    crazy great fight!!!
  • releash, i think we were typing the same thought at the same time. i didn't mean to sound like..."nah, nah, i'm not surprised stephens didn't tap...:D" just meant that he's proven to be tough to submit in the past.

"lil' bit" of a comeback for stephens in that one. that uppercut got a few replays, i'm sure it will be seen many more times. wow! quite a finish after it seemed like stephens couldn't make a move without getting into bad position on the ground.

we are in for a battle here. Florian is the better fight in my opinion but stevenson has a decent shot. i'm interested to see what kind of pace they start with.
  • great fight! too bad it was only a round. i didn't expect either guy to finish it that early, but what a performance from kenny. that's a big win for him to submit a guy like joe.

I didn't predict it go so early either, but great win for Florian. Exciting fight.

I wonder how many more undercard fights we will see? It's only been an hour and forty five minute airing so far. we usually get at least 2.5 hours.
