overall, a pretty good show. exceeded my expectations, i'd have to say. i was hoping for a longer and more competitive title match, but bj looked outstanding.
hey, another pre-lim. only sam's fight not shown. :( sorry to read on the spoilers that it wasn't very exciting, but sam did seem to get a decisive win.
are you sure you put Gouveia as the winner? Or are you just upset that the girls have won the first two events?
i am indeed! i have no problem losing "fairly squarely" ...but under "your choice" it says wilson gouveia and under "round" it says 2, but they are both in red and have x's beside them.

That's weird ... hopefully they'll fix that glitch. This events exceeded my expectations too. Fast main card victories and we got to see almost all the prelims

i'll have to send them a "question" to their email if it's not fixed!
it was fun playing the game once again and very good to see j's friend got his picks in on time. much cooler to play on an even playing field.
this seems weird for the show to be done already. there were a good number of fights this time too, so i feel wiped out for the day already and it's only 7 ! releash, you must be tired. ceg was up early too. these daytime shows!
there will be an inquiry into the controversial finish here, but for now hats off to J Bully" we'll see who is undisputed when the review comes in, though! j's friend comes through with an impressive performance that will hopefully give ceg some inspiration to get back to the top next time. you're still the first champ!

yet ANOTHER good fight added to ufc 84...AND confirmation of a press conference to announce the event!
Jonathan Goulet vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka at UFC 84
MMA Junkie.com
January 19, 2008
We now have confirmation of another Canadian fighter that’s been booked for the UFC’s first-ever show in Canada: Jonathan Goulet (21-9 MMA, 3-3 UFC).
The veteran fighter will take on Kuniyoshi Hironaka (11-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at UFC 84, which is set for April 19 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. Our Canadian friends at TKO Xtreme first broke news of the bout earlier today, and MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) was able to confirm Goulet’s booking with a source close to the fighter.
The upcoming event, which will be officially announced at a Feb. 4 press conference in Montreal, features a main event between UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and interim champ Georges St. Pierre.
Goulet, who hails from Quebec, most recently defeated Paul Georgieff at The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale. The performance earned Goulet a new four-fight deal with the UFC.
The 28-year-old is a veteran of the Canadian fight scene, where he’s competed primarily in the popular TKO organization.
Hironaka, a 31-year-old Shooto vet, made his octagon debut at UFC 64 with a unanimous-decision loss to Jon Fitch. He then scored a decision victory over Forrest Petz in April before dropping a second-round TKO to Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 11.
looks like karo parisyan vs. thiago alves will be happening april 2nd on ufc fight night 13 instead of in montreal. a little bit disappointing...it really would have been great to see live.
ooooh! i see the results of the inquiry are in, and Battery gets the win in the fantasy league!!
all right mookie, you and me, LET'S GET IT ON!
champion vs. champion, eh?
yes, i was pleased to see the correction made and the true champion crowned this time. haha now it is time to defend the belt, so i will train very hard over these next couple of days, as we have many game participants!
good times with the fantasy league, and a good fight night just a few days away.
leafs4ever, just send me a pm with your email and i'll send you an invite if you'd like.
this match kind of came out of nowhere, but the more i think about it the more intriguing it sounds. excellent match for sam if he wants it to be. one more for montreal...
Report: Sam Stout vs. Rich Clementi at UFC 84
MMA Junkie.com
January 20, 2008
Fresh off last night’s unanimous-decision victory over Per Eklund, Canadian Sam Stout (13-3-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) has been booked to face “The Ultimate Fighter 4” cast member Rich Clementi (30-12-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at Montreal’s UFC 84 event.
The Canadian-based site TKO Xtreme reported the news, learning of the fight from a source close to Stout.
UFC 84, though officially unannounced, is expected to take place April 19 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. UFC welterweight champ Matt Serra meets interim champ Georges St. Pierre in a main event title-unification bout.
Last night in the opening bout of UFC 80, Stout cruised to a unanimous-decision victory over Swedish fighter Eklund. The 23-year-old has fought primarily for the Canadian TKO fight promotion will mixing in stints with the UFC.
Clementi, who promotes his own shows in Louisiana as part of his No Love Entertainment company, has been on a recent tear, winning his past four fights and five of his past six. He posted the biggest victory just last month at UFC 79, submitting bitter rival Melvin Guillard in the first round of a televised bout.
The 31-year-old found a second life in the UFC with his recent success.
just sent ya a pm mookie, sounds like a lot of fun. Only a couple days till the next event
invite sent, leafs4ever. i know! it should be a good one too. i'm going to look over my picks again while i'm around the fantasy thingy anyway and see if there's any i want to change. i should stay with the gut, though! my gut also says releash (j bully ) might take this round...we shall see...i got it by a basket last time, so i hope i don't blow the last two like i did yesterday!

The interim title was nice but we all knew who the real champion was! I'll see what I can do to win Fight Night.. I think Gray Maynard will give me good luck this time to pull out the victory. Can you believe they still have him in prelim fights?! I might be biased but I think he's a more exciting fighter than Nate Diaz. Hopefully he'll get another win this time and be on the main cardof an event later this year.
that's part of the excitement of the sport. anything can happen! you expect a bout to go one way and in a flash it turns around.
i like what you're saying about gray, releash. it's unfortunate that he's had a bit of bad luck since the show and didn't get to show much against veres, other than his quick and powerful hands, which are underrated in my opinion. add his ever improving stand up skills to his already very impressive wrestling and he's got all the tools, given some more experience, to get to or near the top of the LW division. so many great fighters that he works with too!
i'm actually really hoping to see that one. siver is a well proven veteran and will be tough, but i think we'll get to see the improvements and strides that gray has made in this fight. it should be a good one.
welcome aboard, leafs4ever. so our league looks like this now...(just a chance for me to shamelessly post the victory standings now that they've been corrected :D)...

i think they started with 80 doing league standings, but i don't think they're calculated until after the fight night, or maybe even after 83. seems like they're ironing out the bugs or trying set up things like that. it says our "scoring group" will be based on 80, fight night 12, 81, 82, and 83, so i'm not sure if we'll get point totals after wednesday and it will keep track as we move on, or if we'll get the results after 83...?
