I think 35 is fine, but 40 is pushing it.

My parents were 37 & 41 when I was born and they were always so old!
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

its free here.. i.e. a 17 year old girl ho has never worked will get the same cara nd attention a s a 31 year old solicitor..

its 'free' in as much as its paid for by our taxes.. but its genius lies in the fact that its not exclusive to just those whocan afford it... the US has an unbelievably high death toll due to people who simply couldnt afford care.. meanwhile your govt has spent 60 trillion dollars on a war no-one gives a fuck about.

LOL. Did you mean to say '17 year old hoe'? That would have almost been moving if you could spell!!!!!!!!! :):D

Both my mother-in-law and sister-in-law had a kid when they were 40. If you are healthy then it shouldn't make too much difference. My mother-in-laws was in the 1958 and health care has come a long way since then. Like others have said there is a higher risk of things happening, but other than that...:)

Ahh...3 years before I was born...I dont believe in fate...only luck. If I were to believe that everything happens for a reason then I would be admitting that I think there is a superior power that controls the universe. Not part of my ideology.

I mean, I just figure it's game over at 35 unless you can afford really good health care. That number is like doomsday.

More and more women are having kids past 35. It's much less of a big deal anymore.

My mom had me at 39. I was her easiest and quickest labor (10 minutes and I was out!), and neither of us experienced a single complication.

(I, on the other hand, had a high risk pregnancy at age 26!)

tis not fit for the open forum. dont want to be encouraging the kiddies in any sort of debauchery. one must come about this kind of thing in their own time. :D

I could be wrong, but I think it's more risky to have children when you are older when it is your first child then if it is a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th 6th, etc child. But like I said, I could be wrong about that. Also, yes, a lot more women are having children older and it is becoming more socially acceptable (actually it nearly feels as though you are an outcast for having children in your 20's these days! :)) anyway... being socially acceptable doesn't change the fact that there are still more medical risks involved.
  • Our daughter is 3 months old, I am 35, wife is 38. She did have some extra tests done this time around.

More complications get involved in older parents but I don't really think it becomes an issue until post-menopausal. Personally, I don't think it's particularly ethical to try for babies with IVF purely because the biological clock has stopped ticking. The IVF treatmenet was designed for fertility problems, not because some busy city workers prefered to have nice holidays throughout their 30s. But then again I'm only 20 so maybe that's a little rich coming from me, and I'm sure some people would disagree.

If 35 or 40 is too old, then I am screwed. If I have a child it probably won't be until I am close to 40. I guess I should just forget about it now?

Thanks, J. Given that I am not really traditional it is one thing I would like to do the old fashioned way. Meet a boy, make love like crazy, shack up and have us some babies :D
