You may be right that the ultimate choice is a concious educated decision to cheat in this day an age, but there is a lot more to it than that.


But anthropology tells us that the males main purpose for living is to procreate as often as possibe, while the female needs to abstain from procreating until the best suitor comes along.

There is a lot more than "cultural myth" behind the males need to procreate-and even though we live in a modern society, some of the innate sub concious urges have evolved into the need for multiple sex partners, even after committing to one person. i know all the *science* behind it, and i STILL say that even on that biological level, it ain't all that. agree...disagree...c'est la vie. i just don't think the difference is THAT substantive, and certainly not enough to cause *involuntary* need for cheating. i call copout/lamearse excuses/BS.



and NOT all animals follow that same drive, and vary within those sexual drives. some ARE *programmed* to be monogamous, others...not so much. so even within the *science* of it, i don't think enough substantive proof to correlate an *involuntary* need to fuck around. just my little ole opinion.


taking it a step further in our cultural climate, i DO agree, female infidelity is on the rise....not to do with anything bioligocal, and i'd guess everything to do with independence, having emotional and physical needs unmet, etc. so yes.....with a more level playing field, most of us like to fuck for fuck's sake if/when we can, depending on our own personal moral code, needs, desires, etc. so still...CHOICE.


btw - i don't think ANy of my posts masqueraded as saying any of it is *simply*...merely calling it out as it is, and when i hear bullshite...i call it. to say that cheating may be rooted in *involuntary* needs, i am sorry, is bullshit. even with that preprogrammed *drive*....i still say choice trumps anything involuntary, and instinct may be.....but there's STILL choice in it. no excuses, that's my only point.

i think women's rising infidelity rates correlate with rising divorce rates, rises in earning power, and the general state within our culture the *acceptance* of more choices for men and women, and all that encompasses. the internet and/or proliferation of sex-based content i am sure may play a role...but i'd not it at THe forefront personally. i think men AND women are growing and changing within their 'gender roles'...more is skewed/shared/up-in-the-air...and while overall i think it's a GOOD thing, i think we are trodding through cultural gender-based 'growing pains' as it were. seriously.

us men cop a lot of flack for things. I have never cheated on anyone, and never will, but i know guys who always cheat on their g.f. It is just not fair.
