Because the lyrics are so brilliant and beautiful, because the music is so passionate, because they are so good to their fans, because they've never been sellouts, because they actually care about making a positive difference in this world, and because they're the only band I can listen to for hours on end without getting sick of them...

Because they are (no mather what you all say) the most creative, versatile, unique(you might say theyre not original but I have never seen anyone sound like them(and ive seen alot of nirvana rip offs(good ones))), humilde, outspoken(in a good way), generous, credible, talented, oh and amazing guitarrist, outstanding drummer, and the best vocalist/lyricist/songwriter of ALL FUCKING TIME.....................
Well said. Thank you very much for that. xoxo

PJ is the best b/c they're incredibly talented musicians, play and sing from their souls, world events actually mean something to them, and they care about their fans enough to work hard on each and every album and song! They truly are the best band in the world.
they appraciate their fans and play a wide variety of their song catalog.
they believe in the music and don't care about who says what about it.
As you live your life in sometimes quiet desperation, facing adversity and tragedy: if you have hope and love, that mixture helps you overcome that tragedy and go on with the rest of your life.”

Their music can do so many things... If I want to rock out...if I want to feel sad...if I want to philosophize i can. Eddie makes the vocals and lyrics sound great with his rage. Jeff grooves with his bass beat. Matt swings it with his drumbeat. Mike makes me want to jam. Stone makes me dance...and for all its worth PJ will always be my favorite!!!

I don't think I can ever get sick of their music whereas it happened a few times with other bands.
There's no day when I'm not listening to any PJ.
Great musicians, excellent song writers, superb performers.
They really appreciate their fans and they mean it.
Yesterday I went to Earls Court to see RHCP but they were nowhere near to PJ. No crowd interaction, no rarities, a quite dull Anthony, Flea and John were quite good though and tried to save the gig but they were not on fire like Mikey who rocks out all the time. I felt a bit disappointed as PJ set a very high standard in terms of live acts and RHCP didn't meet that. Maybe they were kinda cool 10-15 yrs ago but now... I know this would never happen to PJ and I'm sure their shows will be still full of energy, rage and they'll be rocking big time 15 or more years on too.

They have amazing albums that have gotten me through good and bad times in my life, they are even better live, They are just amazing musicians, they do more for their fans than any other band I've ever seen. They do more for charity than any other band I have ever seen. They motivate their fans to get involved with social and important issues. They have motivated fans to start their own projects, fundraisers and even summer parties to celebrate their music, raise money and have fun at the same time. Though I've never met a member of the band, I have heard that they are the most down to earth and "normal" musicians people have ever met. They are probably one of the most caring and good hearted group of people ever to be in a successful band. I guess I could go on forever. This band has truly changed my life for the better and probably everyones on this board.
Thanks Pearl Jam for everything......
and P.S. if I had more money and time of work I would have seen more shows, but thanks for two unforgettable nights in Chicago. PEACE!!!

They don't compromise...they are who they are...love it or hate it.
I also love the fact that, for the most part, their fans have grown up with them. PJ isn't a fad...once you are hooked, you are hooked for good. They aren't a flash in the pan. And those of us who have loved them for many years stay devoted...and bring others along for the ride.
What they give back to the world as a whole, charity organizations, environmental groups, etc, puts them over the top for me. This band cares. THAT is why Pearl Jam is so awesome.
Their music is the PERFECT blend of accessibility and intelligence- a very tight rope that very few have ever walked across.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
When I joined the pit, not to long ago, I was surprised just how many people refered to the bands music as a soundtrack to their life (of sorts). Thats exactly how I feel.
Its not that we've all shared the experiences described in every song, but somehow Ed has a way of tapping into the very essence of the human experience. He provides the words, and the rest of the boys put it to music in such a way that it elicits a response from your soul.
Obvioulsy I don't have Eds talent with words, but hopefully that made sense anyway.
All of the above! They totally revived my interest in music in 1992 and continue to do so. I can't wait to see where they go next, but I know I'll be there.
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
not only musically but what they are as people. i've never met them, closest was hanging out by letterman on may 4. but from what I've heard they're all normal down to earth people, which is rare to find among entertainers. So being normal people that rock makes them the best band in the world.

they're the best because they had been an incredible inspiration for me. There is SO much depth and story in their music, that you ALWAYS learn, and love something new. your favorite song today might be replaced by another one tomorrow. They have LOTS of materials, to always keep it fresh. they have this integrity, and love for what they're doing. they want to make a difference, make this world a better place.
simply put, you can't go wrong in saying they're the best. even if its only in your own standards... still, they are the best for you. maybe not for the majority... but for a single fan to tell them that they're the best...
maybe they really are. and i agree....

and yes, i NEVER get tired listening to them.
