Nice to read the comments on why PJ is so good. My PJ story began in 1997.
I hadn´t ever before heard about Pearl Jam. I used to spend my time in IRC (not anymore, luckily). There was a turkish guy who was a PJ fan and after many chats, he wanted to send me Vitalogy as a birthday present. I was thinking "ok, lets listen to it..though it cannot be as good as he says".
I turned it on and heard the first sounds of Last exit and daaaaamn they rocked!!! I remember that feeling just like it was yesterday, really
And I loved eddies voice from the first moment. Thanks for that turkish guy, keep on rocking wherever you are! Sounds maybe a little bit ugly story but I had to tell it
After having Vitalogy, i started to collect CD:s and now i have all the studio albums and DVD:s etc. Last september i finally saw Pearl Jam live in Berlin and now i´ve got the tickets to London in June 18th.
But finally to the question why they are so good? They are unique. Eddies voice is amazing. They want always to share the moments with the fans; not just to go to the stage, play and go away. And they have good fans
Their songs have a meaning - the songs suit for different feelings, to good moments and bad ones . Still, even though I listen to pj music every day, their music gives me "kicks" and that´s a thing what I still cannot understand how it´s possible but it really is. Only good band can do that.

I agree. San Diego was a great show. Anyone who was there is lucky. However, I must say that the Gorge 1 performance of Gone seems waaay overlooked - I think it's tighter/better overall. Anyhoo.

Whats special about Pearl Jam besides being fucking amazing is how much they care about their fans, but how little they care about what people think about them. I think thats awesome.
They are also the only band ive ever heard telling security to stop kicking people out and to say before the show starts that they are willing to stop in the middle of any song if anything goes wrong.
