Pearl Jam is more than the best band in the world. They are a way of life, a way of thinking, an all encompassing trip! My life would have been so much the poorer for not having stumbled across them. I missed the whole grunge explosion, busy planning to get married, have huge amounts of kids and go farming!!! YEAH I KNOW! WHAT A JOKE RIGHT!! :D Mostly listened to John Cougar Mellencamp and Bon Jovi! I KNOW! (Told you it was bad!) Anyway things went pear shaped with the fiance and stumbled into the pub one night and a met a bloke who LOVED PJ! Somehow started to grow on me. THEN they released BETTERMAN! That was it! I was completely hooked! I went back bought everything I could get my hands on. Bought everything new they released and listened and listened and listened. And my life continued on and they kept coming out with the perfect song at the perfect moment and just reinforced their brilliance. Now I was willing to accept that maybe I was a wee bit obsessed but the fact is that if they hadn't kept changing and growing and nailing it each and every time I would have got bored and given up on them years ago. And the best thing is that I have discovered that all you folk out their love them for your own special reasons and they have been affecting your lives right along with mine. AND WE ARE ALL ON A DIFFERENT PATH!!!! Different time zones, different sexes, different life aspirations. Different and yet the same. Imagine! Imagine, just how brilliant that really is for a minute!
