The cheerleaders are a nice touch. Blond on the left is yummy

We only get the Ice Girls

They scoop up the snow on the ice in between stoppages
My drinking team has a hockey problem

The ONLY thing better than a glass of beer is tea with Miss McGill

They have those at the united center. Carolina broadcast had a ton of cheerleader shot.

  • Not a flyers fans, but from the outside, Carter seems like one of those guys who disappears at times and takes some shifts off... If that's the case, why would you give this guy guaranteed money for pretty much the rest of his career?

They still have money for Giroux? That kid is a stud...

You're not far off. As it's been said before - he's the Bobby Abreu of hockey.

Oh, also, there's this douchebaggery that makes him exponentially more of a tool. Nice try being the next Pat Burrell, Jeff. Not happenin...

  • My Issue is if you lock a guy up for that many years he better perform when it counts

Richards and Briere were the first 2 with the long contracts and both step it up in the playoffs..even Giroux and Leino last year were unbelievable in the playoffs

The other issue is you have basically taken away any trade possibilities..give him a 3-5 year deal some flexibility if you need to move him for cap reasons even..Homer has hitched his wagon to Richards and Carter since they were drafted

    from yahoo...

Carter has 153 goals in 397 NHL games. His 79 goals in the last two seasons put him among the elite snipers in the game. Yet when it comes to this contract, we get the feeling that the only people that will be more upset today than fans from other NHL cities who coveted his game are going to be Flyers fans who see an incomplete player given an 11-year commitment. He's also a player whose points-per-game average goes from 0.73 in the regular season to 0.46 in the postseason -- another common complaint by the Orange and Black faithful about Carter.

Don't get me wrong I wanted him to be here but the length of that contract is insane

If a guy like Backes in St.Louis is getting $4.5 mil average and has averaged like 17 goals a year the Carter avg salary is not bad

another great win tonight for the boys. as for the carter deal. While the 11 years is long i think they had to do that so that they could afford keeping him.

the giroux and carter deals should be swapped. the thought of watching carter for another decade is nauseating.

the team is still rolling...they look good enough to even avoid the annual december slump.

this team is so good right now. i don't think it's a hot team i just think they are damn good. got to give Holmgren credit for upping the defense. this team is so deep both offensively and defensively. when a team looks this good early you want the playoffs to be now and not 6 freakin months away. fun team to watch.
  • 9-0-1 in their last 10

    That's a nice run :)

So many guys contributing right now and solid goaltending

Giroux 10 goals already...I think his coming out party was the playoffs last year

  • Just want to keep piling up the points, so as to withstand the inevitable slump later on and not need a shootout to make the playoffs. Team is just rolling right now.
