Good win last night. defense played well. I still don't see them in the playoffs to be honest but atleast they are playing well right now.

This team is terrible. They don't have one defenseman who is even average. Grossman is the worst...I cannot stand him.

Imagine if they didn't make the carter/richards trades? Both of those trades are resounding wins for the flyers and they are still a terrible team.

I like the direction that hextall is taking the franchise (build the farm system, eliminate bad contracts like hartnell), but it's going to take a long time to get rid of the terrible contracts that they're stuck with (umberger, macdonald, lecavalier).

Not good times...hopefully they can start dumping trash at the trade deadline. And the cap goes up substantially more next offseason than it did this year.

    They are painful to watch...

You can say that the Carter/Richards trades are resounding wins and don't forget about the Patrick Sharp trade...but those three alone...a combined 6 Stanley Cup Rings to the Flyers...zero.

I do think the team is going in the right direction...it's just going to be a long process...I really think they need "fresh blood" in there.

I dont really care how many rings the players they traded have won. I don't know why people bring that up (not you...everyone, esp the media). Trading carter and richards was good for the flyers (esp the carter trade). That's all that matters.

But yeah, this team is bad. Will be interesting to see what hextall does at the deadline.

Its long overdue that the team is starting to realize (and call out) the fact that B. Coburn is pretty bad at times, especially for someone with his size.
A loss vs NJ tonight will be a doozy. This team just is not good.
Those kevlar socks likely saved Girouxs season, and he is actually probable for tonight.

Something is gonna happen soon, most likely a coaching change, even tho the majority of the problem lies with the players. Berube is in over his head, but it's def not all him.
Back in the thick of the McDavid sweepstakes.

the only hope for this franchise is the 3 young defensemen in the minors and juniors along with Stolarz. unfortunately that is probably 2-3 years out for them being fruitful NHL players. could be a long few years.

A ray of hope for one of the young forwards in our system. Sadly, it is very thin on potential talent at that position in the minors.

Jagr is a better forward than anyone on our team not named Giroux or Voracek, The guy can still play at a high level.

Mason reinjured his back in practice. Excellent. Thats what happens when you carry an entire team on it for most nights.

I can only guess that the Lightening were expecting to coast in this game and the Flyers decided to play for the AHL goalie.
