i hate the NHL schedule makers.

yes, the timing is good, considering the injuries to JVR and Jagr, but it sucks not having anything good to watch.

Central time might be the best sports time zone in the country.

    I love the late games

local games still start at 7.

you still have the late games...they just don't keep you up until 1am. most are done by midnight.

east coast games start 6 which gives you time to get home.

MNF and Sunday football both are over before midnight.

Central time is the perfect time zone for a sports fan if you are a 8-5 person

eh, all a matter of opinion. I wouldn't trade the east coast time for any of the other time zones.

11 am start for college football games. no thanks.

11 isn't bad...and all the big games start at 2:30/3 now a days or they are the abc/espn night game. but even if it is 11, you get the game in and then you still have half the afternoon to do whatever.

    NFL at noon is brilliant

but if you are happy...then i am happy....

but central time is brilliant. :P

  • I love watching sports when I go to my sister's house in Denver. But I'm also on vacation so the early starts of the eastern times don't bother me. Of course, I think everybody does everything a little earlier out there - lots of 7-3 schedules. We watched the end of a Yanks-Red Sox game last June that was on til about 1:30 am EDT - watched CC get roped.

Yea, the SC Finals were on while we were in Denver too. Had it on while we were making dinner. Pacific time everything is way too early - Central or Mountain I think are perfect. Eastern will kill ya.

  • The new realignment is similar to how the league was set up in the 80s. Here's a preview of what we might be in for - the Flyers playoff series in the first two rounds under that system:

1982 Patrick Semifinals: Lost to Rangers 3-1
1983 PSF: Lost to Rangers 3-0
1984 PSF: Lost to Capitals 3-0
    1985 PSF: Beat Rangers 3-0
1985 Patrick Finals: Beat Islanders 4-1
1986 PSF: Lost to Rangers 3-2
    1987 PSF: Beat Rangers 4-2
    1987 PF: Beat Islanders 4-3
1988 PSF: Lost to Capitals 4-3
    1989 PSF: Beat Capitals 4-2
    1989 PF: Beat Penguins 4-2

They played the Rangers or Capitals in the first round 8 straight years. :!:

At least we won't be playing Buffalo too much, if ever.
