I disagree with this. Having to play those first 2 games on the road is huge. In the 3 series the Flyers started on the road last year, they went 1-5 in Games 1 & 2. It's not every year where you can come back from a 3-0 deficit, you know. :?

a 3-0 deficit is an exception. 2 of the last 3 years the flyers have gotten to the ECF without home ice in most of their series.

home ice doesn't mean much in hockey.

just ask yourself, would you rather have game 7 on your ice or not?

I don't think he is a bad player, small, but I think he has decent skill. At the time, i had hoped he wouldn't have been traded, but atleast we get a first rounder.

Versteeg has been pretty shitty since they got him. That said, he should be more valuable than carcillo or shelly come playoff time.

The flyers are going for it all this year. I have no issue with the trade.

Especially since you can look at that 1st round pick as a borderline 2nd rounder depending on where the Flyers end the season. The difference between a late 1st rounder and a early 2nd rounder is marginal.

I love watching ovechkin play. he's the anti-crosby.

anyone ever see the clip of richards-ovechkin fighting in the minors? apparently they fought a bunch of times and richards tunes him up every time. I saw one of those fights a while back and it was awesome. Can't find the clip online anymore...I think the caps had all versions destroyed.

The "lower body ailment" means the Caps are letting Ovie get all rested up for the playoffs: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6243195 I guess they decided they don't want to be the San Jose Sharks of the East anymore. Or I guess it could just be a herpes flare-up.

Good article in the philly papers today about the importance of winning the conference. I still don't think home ice means much, but the writer (forgot who it was) made some great points about seeding/matchups in round 1.

Also should be telling to see who's in net tonight. Gotta figure with these big games coming up that we will find out who laviolette expects to ride in the playoffs.

Ken Daniels is on Versus for your game tonight. How strange.

Can't believe Lavvy is gonna start Bob in the playoffs. We'll be lucky to get out of the first round.

Have you guys ever seen a player fall down more than hartnell? It's like someone puts tape on his blades before every game

I'd love to play the caps in the playoffs. I know ovechkin and green are out, but they're a bitch team

christ, boucher. I guess it doesn't matter who's in net :? Maybe they should go with the goalie cutout in the playoffs
