one thing's for certain......she's DEFINITELY your niece...;) :D

yeah...I know...the thing that sucks is I was ACTUALLY given shit by her mom (my sis) because she said I am not always a "good" influence on her...and that was why she was a little reluctant to leave her "home alone" with me for the 6 weeks...but I was like OH no!!! I can totally do this!!

and you know it is like biting me HARD in the ass (and for once that is unpleasant)

so with this happening on my watch is just like...totally crap-landic.

Yeah the not being able to take AP tests thing would suck, I took pretty much every AP class possible in high school, and it would be a shame to go through the harder workload for nothing. However, if for some reason things don't work out and she doesn't get to take the tests, tell her it's not a huge deal. I came into college with more AP credit than I can remember, and was actually a senior in terms of credits by the end of my freshman year, but it's still gonna take me 4-5 years to graduate just like everyone else.

Well at her school in order for her to take certain subjects she has to be able to "place" into them, I am not as sure that she needs them for college credit - but she enjoys taking the "heavier" courses.

I am really just hoping that I can convince them to at the very least let her take the tests...I am thinking maybe detention, or suspension.

I am so tired of all you sue happy dickheads. The school districts are so strapped for cash and you want to sue. With high gas prices, the schools are getting things left and right. Here's a solution, raise your kids right and don't allow them to act like idiots.

I am so tired of illiterate nuisances posting miconstrued nonsense in message board threads.

You read about someone trying to get her niece back in school even if it means using the pressure of the judicial system, and your brain for some reason processes a lawsuit for damages.

Are you *Evan Almighty*? I was a teacher many years ago and I have a 11 yr old daughter and as a parent I can raise her right as you put and still they can get into mischief.

My daughter attends private Catholic School and this behavior would not have been allowed. I gaurantee you she wouldn't have been expelled not with the kind of money I have to put out.

So teenagers find and create mischief to ease tension and as parents we can't at times control their behavior in school. In this case was anyone harmed by her comments where they couldn't attend school?

So why does she need to miss the rest of this year and possibly next?

and if this happened to him when i was on watch, i'd probably never see him again ;)

Call the local newspaper and/or TV station. I'm surprised this isn't already being talked about in the media.

What school/ school district is this?

Maybe we all can start petitioning the school.
  • fuck that bullshit school and the limpdick asshats that run it. this is fucking ridiculous if true.

that about sums up my thoughts on the matter.

good point. zero tolerance? you don't have zero tolerance for someone who sucker punches a kid in the hallway but this girl is completely thrown out of school? definitely newsworthy.

To mention legal action does not necessarily mean "to sue." It means to look at one's legal rights to an education and make sure that the expulsion was not done without just cause. It means standing up for the child's right to make a mistake and not be kicked out of the school.

when your kid gets thrown out of school for no reason, you do what you want.

I will sue their asses fucking blind unless they take it back and issue an apology.

I think it's safe to say that if her family came from wealth and had lawyers at the ready, the issue would've been dropped before it began.

people are too sensitive these days.

get a lawyer and threaten legal action against the school. the last thing they want is their school smeared all over the local paper for something this stupid and meaningless.

so I have a meeting with the superintendant tomorrow.

I am pretty sure they are going to let my niece back into school...I just talked to him on the phone and he was pleasant and told me that the initial reaction was "overzealous" but they had to act on their "zero tolerance" policy.

    SIGH!

I may not have to actually tell my sis, or bust a cap on the foo' counselor.

If one person is offended at all by something someone says, reprimands must happen. In a work situation, she could be fired for that. Its unfortunate that an offended person can't just say "I found that really offensive..." rather than run to the Human Rights or whatever department to have the person fired or reprimanded...

While your nieces actions were funny, it could completely be taken out of context and be considered to be in very poor taste and very offensive...and yeah, could get you a suspension from school.
