    Conversations getting dull

Romo Has Struggled On Monday Night

    Saturday, 13 September 2008
I think Tony Romo can get overwhelmed by the bright lights.
You know how poorly Romo has performed in the playoffs the last two years.

In the last couple of years the Cowboys are 1-2 in Monday night games. That's nothing to write home about for a team that was 13-3 a year ago.

In those games, Romo has thrown five touchdowns and ten interceptions. Ten interceptions in only three games. He's got to be nervous about throwing the football against the Eagles secondary.

Lito Sheppard has been a thorn in the side of the Cowboys for years. He picked off a Romo pass a year ago while he was doing a good job of covering Terrell Owens in the Eagles win.

Asante Samuel didn't get an interception last week but he had two passes in his hands and another on the way to him before Brian Dawkins cut in front of him and dropped it.

When Romo looks at the video of the Birds secondary, he probably doesn't do a lot of smiling.

Yeah, all the Philly reporters have them losing by like 3 points. And the only reason they're doing that is because they're suppose to because you guys have the best team on paper.....on paper.

Dallas writers all have the Cowboys winning by 3 or so as well. No one wants to go out on a limb!

Dallas by 20 points. Dallas is far superior to this team. Shut down Westbrook, game over. Dallas is almost as good as the Giants.

hey fruitfly, i know a little bit about football. enough to know philly has no shot. they beat the rams. lets not get carried away. eagles may not even score a point tonight, so my 3 is generous.

....and they play on a field of a total of 120 yards, 3 feet in a yard, with each endzone being 10 yards in length at each end of the field with the actual playing surface consisting of 100 yards. Following? Good. Each team puts a team of 11 players on the field at a time. Scoring can come by touchdown (6 points), field goal (three points), safeties and conversions(2 points), and PAT (that's point-after-try for you sir so you know which is 1 point). If I've lost you, please let me know and I'll continue......

Classic game, great to win, but I can't beleive Romo missed that pass. He seemed shook up. We have the team, come on Romo. McNabb is one of the best players I've ever seen play. I guess he missed the big one at the end, too. But man that hurt. Already looking forward to the Rematch in Philly.

Wow!! I thought it was going to be a blowout after the TO touchdown and the Felix Jones kick return, but this was the Eagles so I should have know better than that.

Nice to see Romo bounce back from that ridiculous fucked fumble in the end zone. What the hell? But still, nice bounce back.

Desaun Jackson? Seriously? That kid will be great but he needs to pay attention.

I will be so glad when Donovan McNabb retires. That guy. He just kills us. The way he seems to get out of impossible situations and make the play. But he couldn't quite pull it off this time.

The refs were terrible tonight. That awful pass interference call on Henry. Whatever. The Eagle receiver (name slips my mind) had Henry's jersey and was dragging him down in the end zone. And there was at least one time where a Cowboy clearly had ahold of Westbrook's facemask and it wasn't called. And McNabb looked like he was over the line on that shovel pass.

Cowboys defense is still very, very suspect. Even though they stood up with the game on the line, the Eagles were running them over the whole game. Much respect to the Eagles. They bring it against the Cowboys every time. Which is why I don't understand the last play. McNabb could basically do whatever he wanted so he throws a short pass and hopes for a lateral?

See you in December. And I have no doubt the division title will be on the line.

I can't sleep either. The best thing about this game is that Romo seems shook up after the game. His mind has to be on his last pass. Its time for him to have a serious gut check, IMO. He has all the ability in the world, but he has to make that play in that situation. I wish I could personally yell it in his face. Surely Garrett or Jerry or Wade will talk to him to something of the effect. I could tell it was on Emmitt's mind. TO was thinking something he wasn't saying. But like I said, Romo is definitley thinking about it and he knows he has to respond.

Next week another huge test: GB at Lambeau. Great game, but it needs to be a stepping stone for Romo. Learn from this, man.

Exactly...he needs to take that next step for them to get to the next level.
