nah, it's less than an hour... I can never even get two minutes of sleep on Ryanair... ooohh although it's aer lingus this time, less of the theatrics!

If it makes you feel any better, the meet the parents game is torturous for all of us! Never gets any easier. But you'll be ok me thinks. They'll love you, it's just not possible that they wouldn't. And if they give you any grief you've got a legion of friends to sort em out! But it's not possible they won't like you anyway. You'll be fine.

Seeing as I ferried to and from Ireland I can't comment on the airlines although my girlfriend Bridget swears by aer lingus.

it's not so important to him whether they like me or not... so he says... so it's not the extra pressure of 'if you don't get on with my mom, I can't go out with you'

I'm kinda looking forward to getting it out of the way... the mother's tried to meet me a couple of times before and it just hasn't worked out. I've spoken to her on the phone and she seems easy to have a laugh with. Ya know the way you know it will be fine but you just can't help but dread it?

And yeh, I'd be mad to not drink... that's why you and I get on so well Jeanie

Seeing as I ferried to and from Ireland I can't comment on the airlines although my girlfriend Bridget swears by aer lingus.

Ryanair are cheap, the staff are all eastern european and pretty badly paid and treated so it's the only airline the hosts/hostesses aren't expected to smile... but sometimes it's worth paying the extra to fly aer lingus (sometimes it's the same price or cheaper anyway)

Oh well then! If you've talked to her on the phone already and you have a laugh it'll be fine! But I understand the dread bit. I came back inside from having a cigarette the other day to discover Mum having quite the conversation on the phone with a fella. :rolleyes: I could have sunk into the biggest hole in the ground and wish to be covered over!!! And I'm nearly 40!!! So yes, you'll always dread it!!

Just a few pointers before you go... stop drinking, smoking and swearing... oh wearing a twin set and pearls, a knee length skirt, ankle socks and flat shoes might go down well... and don't forget to mention that you're a wholesome Cat'lic gal... That's what I did when I met Dave's parentals...

Seriously though, He adores you for you and his family will see how happy you both are. If his big sis approves then so will his folks. Just be yourself, you're a wonderful person and have absolutely no reason to be nervous

yeah, sounds like QANTAS and Jetstar. Same deal. I always do my best to get QANTAS simply for the service and safety record. Jetstar is more your cattle class deal. Not my cuppa at all. But you do ok keeping an eye out for special deals.

Compared to the likes of Ryanair and Wizzair in Europe, Jetstar is awesome. Except in their terms Jetstar wouldn't qualify as a low-cost airline.

I only recently deviated from my usual and given Virgin a go.

However I have been on Garuda!!! :eek: Now that takes some getting used to!!!

Well it was a long time ago!

And after the trip to Indo on Garuda, my first ever flight anywhere, I made good and sure I was hammered for the return trip so I slept through most of it! Figured if I was gonna die I might as well die peaceful.

Tahiti Nui doesn't sound very good at all. Can you drink? That'd be my advice.
