at this point who the heck cares? i mean if he sucks then it's only one game, if he doesn't then that's like having a new ace.

i'm in the final days of writing my dissertation, teaching five days a week, and this damn team keeps me coming back for more. i have no idea what jeff suppan has in mind for us tonight, but i hope its around the efforts that he was putting up in august. dempster is only going 75 pitches tonight so he should be done by the 5th, wood is likely shut down for the regular season, and marmol will only pitch one game in a non-stress situation. that means we get a steady diet of bobby howry, jeff szmardjia, and the other jokers that prove that the cubs are not all that different than the rest of the team's in the national league.

ben sheets has his chance to be more than an american hero today...let's see if he last longer than 5. him starting reminds me of charlie dorn on major league, he looked around and saw everyone else trying after years of being good on a crappy team, and decided he had to do his part. c'mon crew!

ok i've just realized that i have gone through the 7 stages of grieving with this team...even bargained with cubs fans (what a sellout). now i am at acceptance. if we win, which we can, that's awesome. if we lose, which we can, then the team did their best and at least made watching baseball fun and exciting. the really sad thing is that it has been 26 years since i've experienced a playoff series/run with the brewers. i may root for teams/athletes that would cause people to think i am a front runner, but this is my evidence that the idea is simply not true. i know it sucks to ask the big man for one more great effort just to put us in the position to be there, but let's go c.c. you can do it.

I hope you guys win the wildcard. A lot of awesome young players on that team. i.e. Prince, Braun, CC, Hardy etc...
OK, a new prospective: I hope the Brewers win the NL pennant so the Red Sox can get an easy sweep in the World Series. :D

Don't underestimate us! Sabathia, Braun, Fielder, Hardy? We've got amazing talent on our team, and such potential! I'm not counting the Crew out yet.
  • I don't care what happens, we made the playoffs. :D

  • I love that the whole team stood on the field in front of the dugout and watched the end of the Met Meltdown. they could have hung out in the clubgouse and watched, but the watched it with the fans. Very cool. I doubt he'll get it, but CC deserves the MVP. They're not even close to the playoffs without him. So, who does a Met fan root for? the team that passed them for the Division, or the team that passed them for the Wild Card?

went to the game today (the clincher)

    1. Miller Park is just beautiful. Lots of space, a nice feel to it, and clean

    2. glad to see a new face in the playoffs

    3. Cubs are still division champs with the best record in the league, don;t forget that

    4. CC is MVP, not Cy

My favorite part of this is that Phils fans are about to see their team play a Brewers team they swept in 4 games earlier this september, and they think this is going to be a joke. ONLY they didn't face either Yovani Gallardo or C.C. Sabathia, the Crew's two best pitchers. SOOOO...if we can sneak game one can you imagine the city of Philly having to deal with C.C. down 0-1 at home? I love watching the inevitable Philly fan implosion. Let's go Brewers. BTW I may or may not have sprained my ankle jumping off the couch when C.C. got the grounder in the 9th...haha what an idiot.
