Where are the rest of the Brew Crew followers on this board? Do you guys realize how important today and tomorrow are? With 4 winnable series left (Pirates, Padres, Reds, Pirates), and 4 toughies (Mets, Phils, Cubs, Cubs) I'm guessing we go about .500 down the stretch which puts us at between 88-94 wins (hopefully the Cubs lay down in the last series b/c they hate the Cardinals more). If we can take at least 1 of these games that will make it tough for the Cardinals don't you think?

I'm here for you, but last time I jumped on the bandwagon, the Crew went into a tailspin. I'll root quietly. :D

Why not? I think we have a winning record against all of our future opponents, besides the Cubs, what will stop them from getting there? I'm not suggesting that they definitely will, but you seem to be pretty sure they won't and I'm wondering what your reasoning is? I mean the Cubs never lose games, but have only gained one on the Brewers since the 4 game sweep.

He has no reasoning. He's just trying to cover-up his century-worth of angst. Brewers are 3.5 games up in the Wild Card and can create an even bigger lead with this next series against the Cards. And with the Mets-Phils playing each other, one of those guys have to lose as well. And as well as the Cubs have played, they only gained 1 game since the sweep 3 weeks ago. And a 5 game lead with over a month to play, including 6 head-to-head game, is not safe.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

C'mon boys six more outs and we go up 4 1/2 in the Wild Card and keep pace with the Cubs who might never lose again.

Starting pitching for the Crew the last 2 days 16 IP 1 ER...sure it's against the Padres but still we are winning. Has anyone else read about our "Mexican Pedro" throwing 50 pitches to live batters, and that he's about to go to a rehab assignment with Russell Branyan? How much happier would you be with him coming out of the 'pen in the 8th compared to any other jokester we've been sending out there right now? Finally, is it not kind of unbelievable that no matter how well the Cubs play we have not lost any ground on them since the 4 game debacle? C'mon Crew!

Nice win tonight, now we gotta get Bush to figure it out against Harden tomorrow. We need that game so we can keep the Cubs from clinching till the Mets series...if at all possible. Can anyone else believe that ESPN failed to mention that the Brewers have a certain ace in the hole returning (maybe even Friday depending on Sheets) during the broadcast? I mean what the F do we have to lose by starting Gallardo at this point? Even if he goes 4-5 strong and hands it over to 'pen thats willing to go all out it's better than nothing. Either way had to know the way that the weird Sheets/Gallardo dynamic works that one would be injured while the other got healthy. That would have been a sick threesome.

at this point who the heck cares? i mean if he sucks then it's only one game, if he doesn't then that's like having a new ace.

i'm in the final days of writing my dissertation, teaching five days a week, and this damn team keeps me coming back for more. i have no idea what jeff suppan has in mind for us tonight, but i hope its around the efforts that he was putting up in august. dempster is only going 75 pitches tonight so he should be done by the 5th, wood is likely shut down for the regular season, and marmol will only pitch one game in a non-stress situation. that means we get a steady diet of bobby howry, jeff szmardjia, and the other jokers that prove that the cubs are not all that different than the rest of the team's in the national league.

ben sheets has his chance to be more than an american hero today...let's see if he last longer than 5. him starting reminds me of charlie dorn on major league, he looked around and saw everyone else trying after years of being good on a crappy team, and decided he had to do his part. c'mon crew!

ok i've just realized that i have gone through the 7 stages of grieving with this team...even bargained with cubs fans (what a sellout). now i am at acceptance. if we win, which we can, that's awesome. if we lose, which we can, then the team did their best and at least made watching baseball fun and exciting. the really sad thing is that it has been 26 years since i've experienced a playoff series/run with the brewers. i may root for teams/athletes that would cause people to think i am a front runner, but this is my evidence that the idea is simply not true. i know it sucks to ask the big man for one more great effort just to put us in the position to be there, but let's go c.c. you can do it.
