3.5 games out of first a game behind the cards and a chance that C.C. could be here within days things are looking great
who are we going to move out of the rotation for C.C. if he comes to the team? Suppan's been pitching the worst as of late, but he's a veteran...Big Seth has been a semi-stud since moving to the rotation....Bush has been on top of his game...Parra is 9-2, but a fairly lucky 9-2...

My guess is Bush, but kinda think it should be Parra. Either way can you imagine a staff of Sheets, C.C., and (fingers crossed) Gallardo come late September? I hope this gets done.

Finally we caught the freakin' Cards, and have played 6 less home games than roadies! Hopefully this charge is indicative of the rest of the season.

ok let me get this straight we get C.C. and no love on this board?

As a White Sox fan, I'm pumped about the C.C. trade on many levels. Get him outta the AL Central already, haha, and get him in the NL Central to wreck some havoc. This move turns the Brewers from maybe contenders into definite contenders. They're now possibly the team to beat in the whole NL, atleast them and the Cubs. C.C., Sheets and Parra in a 3 game series, yikes.

I think they gotta move McClung outta the rotation. Suppan has been struggling recently, but he'll move to the 5th spot and maybe trade starts every now and then with Seth. Bush has really come on as of late, and the fact that he's stayed in the rotation for this long already doesn't make me think that he's going anywhere.

I've read and seen on ESPN a few times now that people think the Crew gave up too much. I think that's complete BS. They have such a deep farm system, they could afford to lose a player like LaPorta for a chance at a deep playoff run this year. I'm looking for the Cubs to make a move here in the next few weeks too.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

    THANK YOU!!! I agree.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Pretty sure Brian Anderson said that Suppan went on the DL today, so they wont have to change the rotation for the time being.

That's why you build a farm system for deals like this. :)

    THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!

Watch out Chicago and St. Louis the Brew Crew are the real fucking deal. :D
  • All you Brewers fans out there need to go to http://www.brewers.com and vote for Corey Hart to make the All-Star team. You can vote an unlimited amount of times.

As of last night he had a slight lead in the vote. We need to get him to New York, he deserves it!!!

Not bad for his first night on the squad. Here's my take on the Cubs getting Harden and the Brewers getting Sabathia. Everyone on ESPN is talking about how awesome Harden is, and that he is better than CC, BUT when has he had a better season than CC? Additionally, Harden supposedly may have better stuff, but in the postseason he has been worse...remember he gave up the series changing HR to Trot in Game 3 of the 2003 ALDS. Essentially both of these trades probably get the Crew and Cubs to the postseason, but I believe it doesn't change too much between the two.

I'm not gonna lie last year was really fun, given that we haven't been close since 1992. However, this team is really, really fucking good. Yesterday when I was watching the game it was the first time that I can remember looking at another 'good' team and thinking that they were nowhere near as talented as the Brewers. That said, we can fuck things up the rest of the way. C.C. and Sheets the next two days will hopefully clinch a series win...a brooming would be nice, but the crew haven't won more than 6 in a row in like 5 years or something.
  • ryan198ryan198 Posts: 1,015
Damn...another nice win, though a few more runs would be sexy. I guess the next problem is whether or not Sheets can overcome his recent second half stuggles? The answer to this question is probably the answer to our happiness. BTW any word on Gallardo? If we are "all in" as people have been saying then get that young man some HGH in his ACL (probably doesn't work but still) so that our real #1 prior to Sabathia gets back on the field.

I'm off the bandwagon. Not because I don't still believe, but I was obviously bad ju-ju for the Brew Crew. Good luck without your newest fan. Cubs suck!!!!!!!

They can't beat the Cubs so they beat on eachother. :D

I'm out for the weekend for a wedding, but I hope by the time I get back Ryan Braun is back in the lineup. It's funny there was an ESPN computer ranking that I can't find right now, but early in the year when the Brewers were in last place they had them ranked 6th because of strength of schedule or something. I didn't believe it, but it looks like we are finally facing bad teams, and doing what good teams do to bad teams.

P.S. Rumor has it that a certain pitcher who is better than Ben Sheets but probably not C.C. that tore his ACL earlier this year is about to start a throwing program, and is traveling with the team! It would sure be nice to have him dealing his Pedro-like stuff in mid-September if only for 2-3 innings at a time.
  • ryan198ryan198 Posts: 1,015
Is there anyway Ben Sheets realizes he's a good player in time for him to keep a win streak going? It seems like the Crew comes up short every time he pitches lately.
  • ryan198ryan198 Posts: 1,015
Where are the rest of the Brew Crew followers on this board? Do you guys realize how important today and tomorrow are? With 4 winnable series left (Pirates, Padres, Reds, Pirates), and 4 toughies (Mets, Phils, Cubs, Cubs) I'm guessing we go about .500 down the stretch which puts us at between 88-94 wins (hopefully the Cubs lay down in the last series b/c they hate the Cardinals more). If we can take at least 1 of these games that will make it tough for the Cardinals don't you think?

    Brewers won't make the playoffs.
Why not? I think we have a winning record against all of our future opponents, besides the Cubs, what will stop them from getting there? I'm not suggesting that they definitely will, but you seem to be pretty sure they won't and I'm wondering what your reasoning is? I mean the Cubs never lose games, but have only gained one on the Brewers since the 4 game sweep.
