    Yeah it is Herring and cuz they're pickled, technically they are then cooked by the vinegar.

    Yeah....I was shocked when I saw you post about rollmops. We have a friend that makes them all the time and I kinda assumed it was something that maybe she'd made up ....LOL!

    Wow! Home made? That's cool. :)

    Obviously there's a huge culture for them if both you and EK have friends that make them.

    I've only ever seen them in the fridge at the supermarket or sometimes at the fish n chip shop.

    I've never had the guts to try them ... and then I've been veggie for a long time so have had a good excuse not to for a while ... but my Mum loves rollmops.
    So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
