Unco!Love it!!!
I just thought of another one while I was making my sunshine thread.
You know, people called Sunshine = "the sun shines out of his arse and his shit don't stink"
Or is that just a Daddism?NOPE!!!

E.K wrote:I don't think so. Did you see Kat's reply to my post on the Aussie Acceptance thread before they closed it? I just hope they stick to their word and lock those other long CLICHEY threads then.
That's my big fear now - that they'll close all those similar threads :(
Sure, I disagree with the inconsistancy....but in a way that I'd like our thread to be unlocked like them....NOT them locked like us.
anyway....I'm out of here, before we attract attention :(
Do what Kat has said peeps....spread yourselves around the pit....visit all the forums and threads - I had fun doing that yesterday
If you don't wanna do that, go to LW.....before you get ALL the threads closed for using them to chat0 -
Jeanie wrote:OMG!!!! Is that one of those Milo's-in-a-can that you are was talking about earlier in the thread????????????
It's a photoshop thing I made of Ed with a tin of Milo. I made that in early 2006 when they announced the Australian tour. I must have been bored or something.Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240 -

ozsmalltowngirl wrote:Forgot about Activite.
and yeah....I love Quik....but it's nothing like Milo.
My Milo vice is having a tonne of it on ice cream!!! I quite often make up a big bowl.....AFTER the kids have gone to bed
I think you're right re; Jump Rope......come on Americans.....wake up and let us know
yeah, we jump rope, and with two ropes it's called double dutch....but i'm no good at any of itNo need to be void, or save up on life...

What the heck is Milo? Skipping and jumping rope are two different things. One you do with a rope, and you jump. The other you do without a rope.
Jumping jacks are not a type of jump rope. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_Jack
"A Jumping Jack, or side straddle hop as it is called in the United States military (also commonly known as a star jump, especially to children of Commonwealth nations), is a physical exercise performed by jumping to a position with the legs spread wide and the hands touching overhead and then returning to a position with the feet together and the arms at the sides."0 -

Milo is a powdered chocolate substance added to cold or hot milk.
It is also sprinkled on ice cream and is the base flavour for chocolate bars and energy bars.pearljamjen wrote:Skipping and jumping rope are two different things. One you do with a rope, and you jump. The other you do without a rope.
Skipping has two meanings here.
There's skipping with a rope and there's skipping along without a rope.
We even have a neon sign, classified by the National Trust to preserve it, of Skipping Girl.

Actually I think there is a skipping game here called jumping jacks and one called double dutch too. Those exercises in the the wiki link are what we call star jumps.
I thought the term jumping jack was also used when you play jacks here but I'm having trouble finding a reference to it.NOPE!!!

Was my big problem (according to my Ob; ) during my second pregnancy0 -
ozsmalltowngirl wrote:Even better eaten straight outta the tin!!!
Was my big problem (according to my Ob) during my second pregnancyOh yeah, and then there's that!!!!
Awesome straight from the tin!
I remember at school camp once making Milo and chip sammiches.
If you craved it then your body probably needed it, I'm not seeing what the problem is.NOPE!!!

It just so happened that during my second pregnancy, my body was lacking in MILO and needed to gain 26 kilos  LMAO!!!
Another interesting thing.....during my first pregnancy, my big craving was vegemite sandwiches (or should I say "sanga's')
It got to the point where I'd walk into work every morning and the lady in the Deli (a few shops down) would walk in with a round for me...LOL! Must've been lacking vitamin B?0 -
ozsmalltowngirl wrote:LOL!!! That's exactly what I said and quite often say about my different cravings.....if I'm craving it I MUST follow through as it's my bodies way of telling me I'm lacking in something

meh, it was probably all amniotic fluid and baby anyway!
I reckon Milo was the least of your worries. At least it's got vitamins and minerals, same with the vegemite.
My mum had a thing for rollmops (DON'T ASK **shudders**) and ice cream when I was coming along apparently. eeeewwwwww!!!
Yeah, it would be interesting to see if there are specific things that women crave when pregnant in a cultural sense. IF cravings are specific to local cuisine.NOPE!!!

Did your Mum eat the rollmops and icecream seperately or together?
Interesting point re; cravings and local food0 -
ozsmalltowngirl wrote:OMG! My hubby loooves rollmops! I must admit - I've never been able to bring myself to trying one
aaaarggggghhh!!!Aren't they HIDEOUS looking and sounding things? I've been staring at the jars of them in the supermarket my whole life and shuddering and wishing I had the courage to try myself. I'm sure they're a huge delicacy somewhere in the world! I can't believe you even know what I'm talking about. Most people look at me completely mystified when I mention them.

Together! Or one straight after the other I think! GROSS!!!! :eek:ozsmalltowngirl wrote:Interesting point re; cravings and local food
Yeah, I'd be really curious actually, after hearing all about that poutine stuff in that food thread I had going there a while back.
I mean culturally each country will have it's own "junk" food or "fast" food.NOPE!!!

I've eaten Rollmops. My friend's Polish mother used to eat them and I've tried a few. They're picked raw herring wrapped around something I think.Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240
