the pod race scene was awesome in theaters too... as stupid and gimmicky as all those pilots and the announcer was... i think episode II was definitely the worst tho... i cant think of a single cool moment in that movie... i guess janga fett getting his head chopped off... but he was kindof a bitch anyway... and another thing... why did boba fett get killed in such a cheesy way in ROTJ... hes too cool to get beat by a blind han and then digested by the snarlac
the only strength of 3 was its close ties to 4-6... atleast thats why i enjoyed it... other than that id say it was no better than 2... atleast it wasnt as romantic tho... and count dooku was dead quickly... i just dont think jedi could stand the intense heat of a volcano... theyre not gorons and they dont have the fire tunic
All we need is a 20 sided dice. How many fucking hit points does that level five goblin have?
It's safe to say that if you're throwing out lightning bolts like that cheap ass one move noob in the video at a rate of 1d3+3 current level equal, you should be ok.

You know the thing that ruined the new Star Wars for me was when it came out that N Sync had a cameo in the movie where they played Jedi Knights in that huge fight scene in episode 2. That was the most uncool thing for Star Wars way worse than Jar Jar Binks. I know George Lucas says that scene got cut out, cause of the backlash, but just him even filming the scene kind of ruined Star Wars for me. I still went to the flick, and couldn't help but look for some dumbass Jedi with a perm fighting not cool not cool at all.

jesus... never heard about that til now... lucas has completely lost touch with what makes a good movie... just like jerry bruckheimer and jj abrams... all tools...

Was he though? I think we can all agree that Christenson did a poor job with much of the acting, but he also had some terrible lines to work with. "My heart is beating... hoping that kiss will not become a scar." But how do you define Anakin as weak-minded? He was clearly a skilled Jedi but because he started his training so late in life he had attachments to other people: his mother, his home, Padme, etc. He was emotional, and it was his downfall. We saw a lot of this in Luke as well. It's part of the story arc. You can look at the entire 6-movie series as The Tragedy of Anakin Skywalker and it works pretty well. At least until Jar-Jar and the stupid new CGI scenes in Ep IV get in the way.
only a weak minded fool could have been turned by palpatine the way anakin was. he was played like a finely tuned stradivarius. he was warned more than once by yoda and obi wan and he didn't heed those warnings. he disregarded his entire jedi training.
his training was started when he was 10 years old. and even then he was a willful child.
luke was always the one who would bring balance to the force. that was apparent in return of the jedi. he even showed compassion for his father who until recently had been his mortal enemy. and yes luke was emotional but he dealt with it and overcame any shortcomings that came from it. it is this show of character that is the mark of a true jedi. not the actions of petulant child who wants what he wants when he wants it(without sacrifice) to the detriment of all those around him. he married amidala knowing it was not the done thing. knowing that a jedi must have no attachments of that kind. and lets not forget he all but killed amidala. and all those little jedis in training he murdered.

not to keep harping, but Luke did everything Darth Vader did, and they mention its his destiny, a few times....vader in Emprie says it, emperor in return says it, luke even says it, etc...
training shortcuts with yoda. using emotion instead of rational thought.
I still think it would be awesome to see him take over the universe as a bad guy, only to have jar jar and c3p0 take his ass down in episode 77 in the final scene by way of way too much karate kicks.
luke did not murder tusken raiders in pure revenge. luke did not murder children the way anakin did. luke managed to gain control of his negative emotions and used them for his good and for those around him, whereas anakin allowed himself to be consumed by anger and lost himself to the dark side. luke also went back and completed his training with yoda just like he said he would.

I was the biggest Star Wars fan around and saw Episodes I-III all on opening day, anyone know if indeed George Lucas is finished with it, or if, fingers crossed, he will maybe do one or two more? He seemed to be releasing Episodes I-III, in spurts of 3 years (99, 02, and 05) and seeing how its 2008 it would be right on schedule, but I think we would have heard something by now if he was going to release one this year. And he loves mid May Episodes I-III all were released like on May 19th or something, so its probably not going to happen.
People constantly rag on Episodes I-III but I loved them. To me Lucas can do no wrong. American Graffiti was great and so were all 6 Star Wars films. Maybe he made a misstep with Jar Jar but overall I don’t think I-III were all that bad.
God I hope not, those prequels were terrible. I'm old school.

This sounds like an argument on "a moving train" lol
But no, I dont think there will be anymore. I think George Lucas was happy to close up the whole story. I didnt like the sequels as much though. I may be a dork for this, but I liked episode I better than II and III. Im probably the only one too
You cant watch the 6 in order believably.....such a shame.....
Maybe it's just me, but I kind of look at it like episodes I - III were kind of like the 'golden ages', i.e. the Roman Empire sort of thing, kind of inner peace and prosperity and technology (for the time). After the fall of the Republic, it became a sort of 'dark ages'. I think you can look at IV - VI as those dark ages, where society was fragmented, technology took a step back, a lot of knowledge was lost and things were a lot more brutal and unlawful. Overall I don't think that the originals are that hard to watch in continuity, I mean they don't show Coruscant or anything like that. Some of the control pannels look a little clunky, but overall the transition isn't as unbearable as some make it out to be.
The script/dialogue and acting performances on the other hand....ouch!!! Originals - classic/timeless. I - terrible, terrible, terrible. II - watchable but cringeworthy. III - great effects and tie in to original series, decent story but still a few cringeworthy scenes, esp. from Hayden.

Good post. The episode I Anakin had the worst dialog in my opinion.
Qui-Gon: Anakkin, stay in the starship.
[starship autopilot starts taking off]
Anakin: Well he did say stay in this ship.

I kinda agree with that to an extent, but i still think they went way overboard with CGI, it simply wasnt needed......
maybe if theyd spent a little more time on the script/acting.....
'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton
1) why did they have to make all the characters look like puppets? i know they have the means to make em more realistic looking... wouldve preferred something more like the final fantasy films
2) why couldnt they have explored a time span that people actually care about? more general grievous? who cares? go after episode VI or before episode 1 or something new...
I'd like to see another Star Wars trilogy as long as Lucas hands the task of directing over to somebody else like Peter Jackson or Josh Whedon.. Preferably a younger talent.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the prequels, but the were only good and not great.

Rygar: Yeah, so?
Vedderlution_Baby!: I'm just sayin', is all!
I hear lightning bolt is a pretty sweetz move! Might have to okay it with the dungeon master.
I'm all for people doing their own thing but man, you might not want to post that shit for everyone too see.
still not as good as the other one though.
