there should never have been an episode 1, 2 or 3.
that darth vader was just a whiny weakminded bitch boy was something i could have done without knowing.

I am still not sure why dude was busting, but whatever. If that idea is widely thrown around, sorry for not knowing that. I guess that makes me lame. I dont read the books, I only watched the movies. I dont belong to the Star Wars chat rooms either.

May the force be with you.
He wasn't busting your balls, he was just thinking in one way.
But the Emperor/Vader said it in the movie, that's why I got on him ;)

I got it now. I just missed the sarcasm. Of course, the wrinkled old bastard told him it was his destiny. He also told Luke he was about to die. Wrong on both counts, as he learned to his sorrow.

I remember a long time ago (late 70s early 80s) that there was an offshoot book series about Han Solo. Like Frasier is to Cheers, Han Solo could have been to Star Wars. :)

If this series was to ever make it to film today, who would you cast as Han?
I love to turn you on

GL said no new movies, but he is working on an animated tv series right now, and there will be a live action weekly series that will last 100 episodes, that take place between episonde III and IV but not have any main characters in it. rumor is that it will follow boba fett.

    just google it.

not to keep harping, but Luke did everything Darth Vader did, and they mention its his destiny, a few times....vader in Emprie says it, emperor in return says it, luke even says it, etc...

training shortcuts with yoda. using emotion instead of rational thought.

I still think it would be awesome to see him take over the universe as a bad guy, only to have jar jar and c3p0 take his ass down in episode 77 in the final scene by way of way too much karate kicks.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

Maybe C3PO can get jets this time?

In the books he went evil for a while but I forget why (cause I didn't read 'em). He went good again, either way.

my buddy has read the books ... there are some great story lines for eps. 7 - 9 that i think if helmed and written right would be fantastic ... remember lucas didn't direct all of the first 3 (only episode 4 - original star wars) ...

Star Wars never really had great dialogue really, i know, ding ding captain obvious. As for Episodes I-III, I basically changed it all in my head to what Lucas was trying to get at.

And why mess with the original series? Like one poster stated, that crappy dance scene in the cantina in ROTJ, what is up with that? The original series is amazing, don't mess with it. :(

As far as episodes 7-9 go, I would vote no on it. If they were real I would go see them all on opening day, but the plot seems more Star Trek to me until 9. Besides, the series ends fantastically as it is. [Minus screwing up the Ewok celebration scene in the 'remastered' :(]

For the record, Vader was the chosen one. :) He came full circle and defeated the Emperor, bringing balance to the Force.

it became too hollywood in my opinion ... all the characters were cast with big name stars that just didn't work with the exception of liam neeson (imo) and he died early ...

he was too obsessed with the effects and was trying to make a spectacle rather then a film with a great story ... in fact - that's the problem with hollywood in general these days anyways ...

I also agree with the poster who brought up the point that Jedi were suddenly Tarzan beasts. Sure, make Yoda backflip and shit if you must, but I much prefer the 4-6 Yoda, the puppet, the witty sarcastic playful fun one. :) And in 1-3 they really went overboard on the way he talks. Kind of disappointed me.

As far as the Jedi being crazy athletes, I liked what they did in Episode 1 with the Kenobi-Ginn-Darth Maul fight scenes. I thought that was great. But why change the lightsaber sounds? Again, so much better in the originals.

And for the hell of it, why did Kenobi have to chase down Grievous on that stupid CGI lizard bastard?

Cause his stupid CGI vehicle-that-looks-like-an-upright-wheel was in the shop.
I didn't notice a change in sounds in the lightsabres too much.
Episode 1 is worth watching just to see Obi-Wan kill Darth Maul.

the pod race scene was awesome in theaters too... as stupid and gimmicky as all those pilots and the announcer was... i think episode II was definitely the worst tho... i cant think of a single cool moment in that movie... i guess janga fett getting his head chopped off... but he was kindof a bitch anyway... and another thing... why did boba fett get killed in such a cheesy way in ROTJ... hes too cool to get beat by a blind han and then digested by the snarlac

What did Boba Fett ever do in any movie to earn his 'cool status'? He told the Empire where the Millenium Falcon was, let them do all the work, delivered a block incapable of resisting to a slug, shot lasers at a Jedi who was looking at him (duh) and died.
Jango was much better. He killed someone, fought two jedis (duh) and lived through at least one of those fights.
And at least Han was intentionally looking for him when he accidentially broke his jetpack ;)

well if you consider that all the storm troopers were clones of jango and they were all HORRIBLE shots... thats enough in my book to think he sucks... i guess they were both essentially the same tho... boba just seemed like more of an individual, rebel type

True. Even though I know shit about em it's still one of those movies you HAVE to see.

He was in the good films. That's enough.:p

Ah, but Boba was raised (at least until he looked 10 or something) by Jango, all the Stormtroopers went to Stormtrooper academy.

    This is true.
I didn't mind the first three movies. I can see their faults, obviously, but I can watch them.
3 was much better than 1 and 2.

the only strength of 3 was its close ties to 4-6... atleast thats why i enjoyed it... other than that id say it was no better than 2... atleast it wasnt as romantic tho... and count dooku was dead quickly... i just dont think jedi could stand the intense heat of a volcano... theyre not gorons and they dont have the fire tunic :D

They're doing the same thing for Ghostbusters. Script is being written by akroyd and the characters are all going to be cast by the actors who played them. It sounds pretty fucking awesome. Oh, and there will by a huge marshmallow man.

Yeah but the Ghostbusters game really is considered the sequel.
The Force Unleashed I'm pretty sure is just considered another Star Wars game.

Although I guess if it is 'shedding light' on this or that, it's just an unofficial acceptance...
