However, as I recently read Unless, and Dirt Music , both of which were EXCELLENT!!!!, I'm heading toward starving for incredible writing if I don't get it soon. I'll go fucking postal, in a libriarian-want-to-be-kindof way if I don't get food for my brain!
I just finished "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. It is very well written.
Now I am reading "Blues for Mr. Charlie" by James Baldwin.

"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
I'm not reading much at the moment but the next book I want to read is Boy Meets Girl by Ali Smith. I can't get enough of Ali Smith books.

The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

The most fun book - The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland.
Is it as good as his other books??? I'm a huge Coupland fan and have read all of his other works. I haven't had time to read it yet with my 4 books a week for all my classes. It shall have to be Christmas reading.

Recently finished The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins and now reading Cosmos by Carl Sagan (I admit I have been late to read this). Of course a little terry pratchett or douglas adams therapy here and there to lighten me up.
