Today I just cracked into the 1,000+ page Under The Dome by Stephen King. With my speed, I oughta finish this around New Years.

Once you get into it, it's a quicker read than you think. I think I finished it in like 2 weeks!

So far it is a great read. I started it yesterday afternoon and I am already on page 74.

This was 5 weeks ago and I'm still reading it. I'm on page 640 now and it is a freakin great book. So many twists and turns, every character has their own storyline. I am really hoping they follow through and make this a mini-series.

  • Not an unusual book to be reading in this crowd, I've been reading The Strangest Tribe.

I know. You are all SHOCKED.

    Interesting read, really.
  • An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser.

It surprisingly has a lot to say about the decisions between the rich and the poor that the Occupy Movement is protesting.

I just can not get past page 9. Everytime I start I am too tired to concentrate and it takes months before I try again... :(
  • I like to read books babe.
  • Someone on fb posted something about beetroots and I remembered a book that I've read before and really liked and I started reading it again. It's called Jitterbug perfume and was written by Tom Tobbins.

Great read, also for the third time around

Hands down, my favorite writer ever. Consider the lobster is great. The tracy Austin is awesome. Really enjoyed the porn one too. That book is a great read.

I need to think about tackling infinite jest one of these days

"Infinite Jest" was the first thing by DFW that I read.

It is literally (no pun intended) amazing. The most entertaining thing I have ever read. I strongly recommend it.

 That's been my bed book since January  I think it's great, but maybe not the best book for bed. I've had big reading breaks in between  I recommend it, too :)

I remember reading that many years ago!

Now - Intro to Real Analysis by Manfred Stoll.... For a math class. Kinda slow going, like a page a half hour.

  • Almost embarrassed to admit I had not read this yet -- picked it up at the airport yesterday and like what I have read thus far. I know I am the last person on planet earth to read this book but I figured I needed to check out what the deal was prior to the movie coming out. (The trailer looks/sounds incredible.)

I love this book. Tom robbins is great. Fucked up and great.

...Just finished Life by Keith Richards. I could not put it down. Good thing I have spent so much time on airplanes in the last 2 weeks. If you haven't read it I can't recommend it enough.

Now I need a new book...

    I haven't read it.

300 pages in and it has me. The trailer for the film with the Zep in the background is what got my attention recently....that and it is a David Fincher film. Throw it in your queue if you like Mystery.

Storm of Swords is one of my favorite fantasy books. It delivers the goods. It is the best book in the series so far IMHO

Second, it's one of the best books I've ever read fantasy or otherwise. Still working my way through book 5.

Murder City: Ciudad Juarez and the Global Economy's New Killing Fields

Only 50 or so pages in but it's insane.

That sounds like it could be a good read. Living in Texas, the border violence of the last few years has been mind blowing. I honestly don't know how people in the border towns can have anything close to a normal life anymore.

It's very good. It takes a little while to get adapted to his style of writing but once you get going it's great. Doesn't really sound like there is much of a normal life their anymore. Terribly sad. Does not portray the drug war the way our government and media do though.
