Still working my way through Zinn's "People's History of the US."

In my defense, it's a very long book...

Great book. Palahniuk is such a fantastic writer.

Right now I'm reading "Great Expectations" for one of my English Prerequisites.

  • Just starting Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way, hope its as good as If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor!
  • Just started my Masters in English so I'll be going through novels at breakneck speed for the foreseeable future. First book of the term: Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles". A little too generic in plot for me, but beautifully written all the same.

Yes, he sure knows how to make readers squirm.

If you haven't read it yet, I strongly recommend "Rant: The Oral History of Buster Casey."

I've read those as well and The Killing Moon. He's getting better with each book for the most part.

  • Just finished Orwell's "Time Machine". A bit silly in a 21st-Century context but still enjoyable and entertaining.

Now onto "Waste Heritage", a little-known Canadian Depression-era novel about a workers' strike in Victoria, BC that fails miserably, followed by an organized trek to Vancouver that has no result, positive or negative. Yay.

Just finished reading , Justin Cronin's - The Passage.

Loved it. I'm not into any vampire-y type books/movies etc b ut this doesn't read like one.....I wouldn't have even brought it if it did.

I'm almost done with a wonderful, wonderful book, I'm gonna be so sad when it's done. Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes, a novel about Vietnam. Sort of deceptively simple, clean prose. Lots of characters, the emotion sneaks up on you.
  • After wanting to read it for over a year, I finally started "Water for Elephants" this week, so far, so good!
