Eagles push the Patriots to the limit, exactly what they needed.

    A true test.

i would have taken another 56-10 blow out win, but belichick is going to be all kinds of fired up this week in practice. i saw plenty wrong.

in the end, a win for the pats and that's all that counts in the standings.

Trying to learn how to upload a video unto a website. An off night for the Patriots and they still prevailed.

This came a perfect time, just the thing they need to get them out of the "we'll ALL THAT" attitude. A nice wake up call.

I see them getting sore after practice.

For all those people who say the Pats have played an easy schedule ... so far, to date, their scedule ranks 8th toughest in terms of Win/Loss ... take out Miami and the Jets, then how tough is it?

A chart I came across, ranked from easiest to toughest ...

    W - L - Pct.
    45 - 65 - .409 Oakland
    46 - 64 - .418 Baltimore
    46 - 64 - .418 Pittsburgh
    47 - 63 - .427 San Francisco
    47 - 63 - .427 Seattle
    48 - 62 - .436 Arizona
    49 - 61 - .445 Houston
    52 - 58 - .473 Cleveland
    52 - 58 - .473 New Orleans
    53 - 57 - .482 Carolina
    53 - 57 - .482 St. Louis
    54 - 56 - .491 Dallas
    55 - 55 - .500 Atlanta
    56 - 54 - .509 Cincinnati
    56 - 54 - .509 Kansas City
    56 - 54 - .509 NY Giants
    56 - 54 - .509 NY Jets
    56 - 54 - .509 Tennessee
    57 - 53 - .518 Green Bay
    57 - 53 - .518 Tampa Bay
    58 - 52 - .527 Detroit
    58 - 52 - .527 Jacksonville
    58 - 52 - .527 Miami
    59 - 51 - .536 Buffalo
    59 - 51 - .536 New England

Could Patriots Be Tricking the League?

Interesting article on the Patriots and what they might be up to in playing the league.

that was an interesting read. i believe that the patriots and belichick do everything for a reason, but who knows?

i liked this part: "For a team that is usually great at making adjustments, the Patriots didn't seem to make many defensive adjustments on Sunday night." i thought the exact same thing once the game got deeper into the 2nd quarter.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

from ron jaworski about the eagles aggressive approach against the pats:

"I believe that's the approach you have to take. Quite honestly, this is the best offense I have ever seen. The best. They are going to score points. They only had eight possessions against Philadelphia and ran 73 plays. Every time they came on the field, they ran nine plays. So this is an offense that is going to move the football. They believe in being aggressive. ... As an offense, if you're playing against the Patriots, you can't say 'let's run the ball, let's slow down the game, let's limit their possessions.' Look at what the Eagles did. They did about everything right and still lost the ballgame."

That's the reason I posted this cause I was thinking the Patriots don't seem to want to make any changes in their play. Seems like they want to send the league off in one direction while they have their mindset completely in another. Either way it was a great wake up call for the rest of the season.

If they struggle against the hapless Ravens whom I like then the Patriots truly have some problems.

    comments from pats defensive coordinator:

On the television broadcast, it was mentioned that the Eagles had success with "in cuts". Pees didn't see that as the primary problem.

"It wasn't so much the in cuts as it was the seams of the field, there is a little difference," Pees said. "One thing is that I give a lot of credit to the Eagles and [quarterback A.J.] Feeley. He had a good game and threw a lot of passes when he was under duress and getting hit, and put them on the money. At the same time, we need to play them better.

"The thing that got us a little bit in the last game -- and we've tried to work on it this week -- is just fundamentally we got a little lax at times and let things happen that just shouldn't happen. There are other plays they just made -- he made a good throw, they made a good catch, and that's football. But there were other times that we got caught kind of watching the rush, expecting the guy to get sacked and he didn't get sacked, and maybe we were out of position a little bit."
