I would suspect that it will be incorporated in the next episode or two... especially since some of the story is occuring on the freighter in the "real world" as well as on the island. My guess is that something happens on the island which may be a trigger for the tsunami or the tsunami will happen but not affect the island at all.
It depends where the island is. The tsunami only greatly affected the area around the Indian Ocean.
If the freighter made their last port in Fiji, the Island is most likely in the Pacific and won't be greatly affected by the tsunami.
Now, where the "wreckage" was found off the coast of Bali - that would be right in the middle of where the tsunami hit.

OK, so my best friend got me addicted to Lost a few weeks ago, and with a lot of sitting around and staring at the tele, I am officially ALL caught up. In this process, I have acquired a new crush (Sawyer), and some odd attraction to Desmond. Hahahahaha. Anyway, besides being an utter girl about Lost, this show is brilliant. I want to know who the Oceanic Six are, well, besides Sayid. Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hurley, Jin? No, not Jin... I'm not sure. I'm not sure about Hurley either, he can't keep a secret for the life of him. Interesting about Aaron though. I'm not very fond of Locke, he perturbs me. I am crossing my fingers for Sun.
Don't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.
