the season 4 premier episode is going to be a 2 hour episode. sweet. so i would guess it still starts at 9pm est.
i saw 'there will be blood' this afternoon (which, by the way, was awesome) and before the previews (but after all the annoying commercials) there was a "special sneak preview" for the 4th season of lost, which was really just the extended commercial that is on the website and at the end it said that the premier will be 2hrs.
i agree, i was completely hoping for a recap then 2 hour premier. unfortunately it is what it is. however, if any one has seen the 8:15 recap it was brilliant. you can download it on itunes or find it on the abc site, its great.
im gonna be very dissapointed when we only get a one hour 8th episode "season finale".
im still completely confident this season will deliver. season 3 started terribly and after the break, was absolutely incredible straight through.

yeah, I'm pretty sure I read that the producers confirmed that Mikhail is finally dead.
Granted, I dug his cool accent and that fight scene between he and Sayid in the farmhouse was great (actually, it made me laugh when he threw the pitcher of tea to start the fight) but that guy was worse than the Energizer bunny

Very true, but no one stays dead on Lost for long. We'll probably see him pop up in a flashback or two I'm guessing.
I mean there's still so much about the Others we don't know.
And one other thing to remember about the writer's strike is that many new shows are going to be renewed so that means Cane will probably be renewed so no Richard "Eyeliner" Alpert at least for this season and probably next season.

So is this season 8 episodes or 16? I originally heard 16 episodes for 3 more years, but now I'm hearing this season is only 8 episodes. Is it because only 8 episodes are in post-production due to the writers strike, or were only 8 episodes planned?

8 episodes because of the writers' strike. It was supposed to be 16, but barring a resolution of the strike this morning over tea and crumpets, its only gonna be 8.

Yep, as far as I know only 8 one hour episodes have been filmed so the extra hour would be a recap show.
