i didn't hear that...makes me kind of sad. i still love that little hobbit....and think he's cute. i have weird taste, though.
I agree - 8 episodes would suck - ala the 7 episode mini season last year. But I don't think the strike will go on more than a couple of weeks. Late night tv is already in reruns and most networks only have a couple of episodes left of their shows in the middle of sweeps which is when Networks use ratings to get ad money.
The networks have too much too lose by letting the strike go on too long.
So we should see Lost uninterrupted. I think everyone is just forecasting doom and gloom scenarios because the media loves sensationalizing things.
I think it will be interesting to see how much sympathy actors and actresses get this summer when their contract runs out and they might go on strike.
I agree that a shortened season would suck but I disagree that the strike won't go one for awhile. We're talking about alot of money here and networks aren't going to want to part with any of it until they really feel the pinch from loss of ad revenue. Plus, the writers haven't been getting any of the internet revenue and will want to recoup at least some of that money. Both sides seem to be standing firm and I can't see the writers taking a deal which fulfills anything less than all their goals. The last strike lasted 22 weeks, so I could see this going just as long if not longer... which would suck. I am kinda happy though that Fox realized that 24 needs to run consecutively...

you have much love for beantown huh? dude you always pick the worst dates... pretty much i won't be around any weekend in December.. its my birthday and then my brothers wedding and then my anniversary and then the holidays.. oy...
but someday.. someday
and chromiam.. i agree with you all the way.. unfortunately :(
(But, now that Charlie's dead, who do I (Claire) get to make out with???)
Since I am main script writer (and not on strike), there'll be a little "Eurotrip" twist and you make out with Jack, who we all know is your brother (heck if Boone could bang Shannon why not). And of course I will be writing in lots of Sawyer/Kate sex scenes, and Sawyer may in fact have a threesome with Kate and Claire...and as soon as we cast Sun (AllIam may have to come out of the audience and onstage), then we move to the foursome.

I head up there about 4 or 5 times a year. Other than Philly, it's probably the one place I would most easily adapt to living in. I actually almost moved up to the Boston area a couple of years ago the company I work for bought a company in Norwood, MA and they were looking for people to go up there to work to help smooth the transition.

so much for the move to 8pm. sounds like lost is going to stay in its 10pm time slot (or moved to cinemax!) with all of the steaminess that will be going on!

It's all part of Poncier's artistic vision that will leave loyal fans even more confused than they are now.

Fans of the show will be happy to know that we're wrapping up filming on episode seven, which happens to be a Sun/Jin episode, called "Ji Yeon." Given the turmoil of the past few weeks, it's been great to be able to throw my focus back on my work, and especially on such a great episode. I hope you like it. It should air in March sometime, and if the current strike schedule holds, it will be our second to last episode before we take our unplanned hiatus.
For those of you who don't know, it was just announced that LOST will come back in February as planned, and we'll run all of the episodes we'll have finished, which at the moment, looks to be a total of eight. After that though, we'll be dependent on the strike coming to an end. Please keep your fingers crossed that it will happen soon. The welfare of so many people -and families- are at stake. Many of you have asked me where I stand on the issue, and without getting too political, just let me say that though it's very complicated, I stand behind the writers and what they're trying to achieve. They are as responsible for a show's success as much as anyone -if not more so- and their livelihoods in the face of a rapidly changing entertainment landscape deserve to be protected.
One last thing before I go. I just went back to my college to meet and talk with some of the students, and while I was there, the college theater production happened to be running. It was a play written in 1938 by Gertrude Stein called "Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights." It also happened to be directed by my former professor, so I went back to see it. I'm so glad I did. Eerie, haunting, and so visually inventive, I found it achingly beautiful. Just a nice reminder that inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere, and sometimes, a little dip back into the wellspring is all you need to feel refreshed.
Hope you're having a good November. Cheers, everyone.

This is a little briefing from someone who attended the press meeting to introduce the forthcoming forth season:
The press meeting with part of the LOST cast to introduce its fourth season is as mysterious as the successful show. We are in a room in Disney's studios at Burbank, and no one among the hundred journalists from all around the world knows who will come. It is said that Evangeline Lilly (Kate) or maybe Josh Holloway (Sawyer) or even Naveen Andrews might appear. "Impossible", says someone who has been coming to these events for years. The actor who plays the tormented Sayid has never attended one of these meetings. But, surprise!, suddenly, Andrews enters the room. "I came to a Sex Pistols concert and took advantage of the chance of doing this", he says, in a very good mood.
The amazement doesn't end with him. There is also Harold Perrineau, Michael, a character that didn't appear in the whole third season and the day after this meeting will begin shooting in Hawaii his first comeback episode. "Last Friday I finished shooting a movie, the next day I took a plane to come here, and last night I was given a script I plan to read in the plane to shoot in Hawaii, so I have absolutely no idea about what is going to happen", he says.
Perrineau’s attitude is a reminder of how some things never change. The inscrutability is the norm while dealing with LOST. However, the actors let out some things. A warning: those who follow the third season through Canal 13 and haven't finished watching it, are advised to not read further.
Elizabeth Mitchell, the blond and enigmatic Juliet in the show, says: "There are still lots of people left to die. There are many deaths... people exploding and things like that". She also tells an anecdote that deepens the mystery: "Yesterday I was reading the script of the episode that comes after the one dedicated to my character. I cried a lot, because I learned something that I didn't like finding out about".
Fourth season of LOST will be shorter: only 16 episodes instead the more than 20 of a conventional one. Depending of the duration of the writers strike, the intention is airing it without reruns. Every week, a new episode will be broadcast.
Perrineau says: "When I left the show, the idea was always that my character would come back. And I was told as well that he would be very different. How different? "I don't know, that's my point. I am told he is going to be different, but nothing else" he adds, laughing.
About his role, the son of Chilean Jorge Garcia (Hurley in the show) points out: "He still doesn't know that Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) has died, so he will have to deal with that loss. I think the relationship between Charlie and Hurley was the most solid one in the show. It won't be easy for him". Garcia states that he is interested in coming to Chile, but adds that it will depend of the representatives of the studio coordinating the possibility. "I also would love to go when there is good weather".
Those who watched the third season finale through cable or in DVD, found out the new modality: now, moments of the future are also shown, when the survivors have already left the island. Can we assume that this will be done again? "You can assume whatever you want to", says Andrews. "But, yes... yes, that could happen", he adds, turning into the most secretive of the guests.
Elizabeth Mitchell goes a little further: "There will be more looks into the future, but that the audience won't be able to figure out whether it’s a look at the past or future until the end of the episode. We will also see that some survivors are dead in the future". The actress adds: "A big difference between last season and the new one is that now we are going to see more group interaction. There won't be episodes in which you don't see a character. That has given me the chance to work with almost everyone".
There will be new faces too. With their roles still unknown, Jeff Fahey, Jeremy Davies, Rebecca Mader, Ken Leung and Lance Reddick have joined the cast.

No sarcasm at all, I actually laughed out loud when I read your post.
yea well lets just say i can spot a dumb whore from miles away... and espeeecially a lying whore hehhe.
i think its safe to say that even if Juliet emerges as the angel of the show and ends up saving everyone and they have a parade for her....shes still gonna be a lying whore to us. well most of us

Maybe that's what Jack likes about her. I mean he's been with Kate and she seems to get around the island.

A new one is released on vcast by verizon on Tuesdays and posted on abc the following Monday.

ABC is really hyping the show again - too bad the writer's strike is going to kill the momentum.
