Can Yankees fans really be excited about a World Series??? You only win what, one every three years??.. this would be the 27th in like 80 years, right?

Anytime you win it's exciting, especially now. Getting those 11 wins is definitely not easy. If it was, wouldn't they have won it every year. I sound like Jeter typing this comment.

I was interested in the series for the first 5 games, but I'm so glad it's over. Good job, Yankees! Onward to Christmas movies!

He did his talking on the field, among the things he said was this: "You can call us anything you want. You’re also going to have to call us World Champions.”

The NYC streets in my neighborhood were going nuts, it was awesome. The last time i saw people celebrating out like that was when Obama got elected. Ironically, that too was Nov 4th.

Got home in time to see the post game wrap up. & man.....amongst the waves was just the perfect song to close it out. Very celebratory and moving. A perfect ending!

now to truly top it all off with tickertape.

    Tickertape, everywhere.

    Fridays gonna be awesome.

I'll be taking the subway and will emerge around
the downtown area- by beekman street,
walk over a few blocks and setup camp there .

I feel a little bad for Giambi, Abreu, Mussina --- suffering from the Tiki Barber syndrome.

    Oh wait................... I'm over it.

Walking home from work today (in Philly, boo and thanks SEPTA ) I got thinking about what an awesome season this was and I think it fully hit me that the Yanks are back on top.

A season that could have been a disaster in so many ways between A Rod's steroids, possible season ending injury and embarassing photo shoot, Posada's injury, 20 run losses, empty seats, losing Wang for the season and losing Nady for the season, turned out so well. I got thinking about just how awesome this season was and a few games/moments/milestones hit me (in no particular order).

    1. Opening day of the new digs
    2. Arod home run on first pitch
    3. Castillo drops the last out.
    4. Gardner in side the park home run and at one point having more home runs on the season than David Ortiz.
    5. Starting the season 0-8 against Boston and ending the season tied 9-9
    6. Taking in 3 games at the new place (thanks Yanks for not letting me renew my Saturday package) and all 3 of them being walk-offs
    7. Jeter passing Gehrig on Yanks all time hit list, YES blew it way out of proportion but cool either way.
    8. Pies, Pies, Pies
    9. Mo's 500 saves
    10. Minor leaguers coming up huge all season.
    10. Comeback after comeback and walkoff after walkoff. Way too many to list.
    11. Brawl against the Jays.
    12. Embarassing moments: Melky getting hit with a curve ball and ending up straddling the catcher, Swisher jumping up the wall running out to right.
    13. The entire playoff run. Too much to list

I am sure I am missing a whole lot so feel free to chime in. Thanks Yanks for a wonderful 2009 season. 97 days until pitchers and catchers and all I have to say is....

    LET'S GO YANK-EES!!!!!!!
