especially for us here in PHX! although I think there are more Cubs fans here than D'Backs fans. Can't wait for the series here in July.

Yeah, today alone I've gotten about 5 comments from people that know I'm a Cubs fan. Hahaha!

You going to the series in July? I think I'll probably be there for a couple of them.

3 runs off of Sean Freakin' Estes, not good. Lots of rumors going around that we are going to sign Jim Edmonds today. I realy, realy, hope not. I can't stand that guy and he is way, way past his prime.

no thanks. I'd rather put Murton in CF or let Pie play. Pie has been doing better as of late. Edmonds won't give much more production, if any, than Pie and his defense is no longer what it was.

Well you can bet what Lou and/or Hendry will say is 'we want Pie in AAA so he can start everyday, having Edmonds gives us a veteran lefty bat with playoff experience to platoon with Reed Johnson'. Any takers?

Agreed. Reed Johnson should start everyday in CF with Pie getting spot starts. I also saw that if we do sign him, as of now it's just pending a physical (hopefully he fails) Lou is going to hit him 9th and the pitcher 8th. This is just getting worse and worse. Typical Cubs. Let's fall in love with another power hitter who strikes out a lot. We don't need power hitters, we have them. We need guys in the lineup who get on base and take walks ie. Reed Johnson!!!

Nice win tonight. Does anyone else have MLB extra innings. Unfortunately I got the SD announcers on it. I'm not sure who their commentators are but one of them is a complete whiny little bitch. He was complaining all night that pitches that were balls should have been strikes. He made the comment that "you mean to tell me D Lee hasn't hit that pitch out of the ballpark". I understand if it is one pitch here or there, but it was every inning. Enjoy commentating for you last place team and currently the worst team in baseball, and in the words of Will Farrell, "Go fuck yourself San Diego"!!

It used to be Matt Vasgersian (who was in the hunt to announce for the Cubs before Kasper got the job). Not sure who the color man is though, can't think of his name, used to be a pitcher.

Andy Mazur does their radio games, they showed him last night.

I have a feeling he'll hit Maddux hard. If its close to the plate, which all of Maddux's pitches are, Soriano nails it.

great win today! 6 out of 7 on the 10 game homestand, with Pittsburgh School for the Blind up next!

    On the other hand...

Jim Edmonds left 7 men on base today.

I can't wait when the Cubs hit a rough patch and what you will all be saying. lol :)
  • I can't wait when the Cubs hit a rough patch and what you will all be saying. lol :)

Maybe you don't pay attention to baseball as closely as you think. Cubs have already hit a rough patch, they lost series after series for awhile there against the Brewers Cardinals Nationals and Reds.

You must really hate the Cubs man, its not like we are on here predicting a world series parade. We are all huge Cubs fans, that haven't had much winning in our lifetime. So we are happy when our favorite team puts together the best start to a season in a long time. Does that piss you off that much?

If you want to come here and rip the Cubs cause they have gotten owned by the Brewers so far, by all means, thats what rivalries are for. But right now brutha it just seems like sour grapes.

Believe me, as a Cubs fan in Milwaukee, they are VERY sour, and I love it!! Many Brewer fans are ready to throw in the towel up here. I give them props on signing Braun, actually ripping him off, he could get a lot more in a few years. However their lack of pitching will do them in. GO CUBS!!!

Ahhh he wanted to stay in Milwaukee and to him it wasn't about the money. Not many players think like that anymore so good for Braun and his choice. Yup our pitching will be the end of us. If you win the central don't choke like last time in the playoffs.

Oh just relax will you. You Cub fans are no fun.

And yes I dislike the Cubs with a passion. :)

I dislike Cub fans more then the actual team. Why cause most of the time your all drunk and just talking shit how great your team is and this is the year. I have one friend that is a Cubs fan. He told me the Cubs were born to lose. LOL :D
  • Why cause most of the time your all drunk and just talking shit how great your team is and this is the year.

    Brenneman?

  • Not Amy, Marty.

On April 17, 2008, during the top of the eighth inning of a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, Brennaman made comments about Cubs fans and the Cubs team.[2] His statements were aired over the Reds Radio Network broadcast of the game on 700 WLW (AM).

"This is the kind of thing, quite honestly, right now, that makes you want to see the Chicago Cubs team lose. Among all baseball fans, and I can't attest to the Yankees or Red Sox, because we don't see them with any degree of regularity unless it's inter-league play, but far and away the most obnoxious fans in baseball, in this league, are those who follow this team right here. Throwing 15 or 18 balls onto the field, there's absolutely no excuse for that, and that is so typical of Chicago Cubs fans. It's unbelievable."

"You simply root against 'em. Ya'know, I've said all winter they talked about this team winning the division, and my comment is they wont win it, because at the end of the day, they still are the Chicago Cubs, and they will figure out a way to screw this whole thing up."

On April 18, 2008, Brennaman appeared in an interview on Chicago, Illinois sports radio station WMVP-AM 1000 in which he reinforced his position on Cubs fans, and compared Chicago Cubs fans to rival St Louis Cardinals fans.

"If they can't understand what happened Wednesday night was completely over the top, then I'm sorry," Brennaman said. "I said how tough it is to root for the Cubs. I think a lot of people feel the same way I do, but they won't articulate it. I'm not afraid to say what I think."

"[Compared to Cubs fans] Cardinals fans are hands down the best in baseball. They respect the game. They don't go to the game to do stupid stuff."

"The Cubs have some great baseball fans. But the ones who act like idiots (ruin) it for people like me."

Hmmmm sounds like a great guy. :)

Most of you are ok and then well there's the rest of you. lol

I did like Harry Caray and his love for the Cubs. But I was younger then and the dislike for the Cubs wasn't there like it is now. I enjoy it and that's no lie.

But it's just a game and that's as far as I take it.
