DOSW wrote:I hate where I live. The college town here is boring as fuck... there's literally nothing to do off-campus save for going to the shitty local movie theatre. I don't understand how anyone could want to live here if they're not here for college. It's terrible, and the weather is pretty bad too.
Back home isn't much better. It's just a boring middle class suburban neighborhood. It's nice and pleasant, but it's not really for me.
I would LOVE to live in Manhattan someday. Hopefully I can get into NYU for graduate school and live there afterwards if I like it as much as I think I will.
Holy shit! Bloomsburg, PA? Central Pennsylvania is the shittiest and most depressing place I have ever been. I went down to Williamsport for the Little League World Series and while that was surprisingly fun, there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else to do withing 30 miles. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Danville and spent most of the time holed up in the room. The only thing we were able to find was some ratty smoke filled bowling ally. I think it was in Danville. Fortunately for us, the Bloomsburg University field hockey team was bowling so we were able to stare at a couple decent looking girls.
That place was absolutely ridiculous, just thinking about it makes me mad. Everything was closed by 10 pm, even McDonalds and Dairy Queen. We drove past a porn shop and decided to stop in cause we were so bored only to find out that you need to be 21 to buy porn in PA. I mean what the fuck? 21 to look at naked people but you can go to war at 18. Most fucked up backwoods place I have ever been. I honestly felt like I was transported back to 1955, the place was just that fucking awful.

I live in Massachusetts. I want to go to New York City for a bit, for my career (since it's THE place to be for communications), but ultimately want to raise a family in New England. I love it here. (although the driving was a bitch on the way to work today with the snow and ice).2003 Mansfield III

I'm surprised about all the complaints people have here for winter and snow...
I love living in a place that has four distinct seasons.

i have complaints about driving in the shit, but i agree. I could never live in Florida, or Texas. I like having it being cold, with snow, on Christmas.2003 Mansfield III
