It is the perfect size for one person, but it does get cramped when I have company.. I'll eventually get something bigger, but to do that I'll have to compromise location for size..boxwine_in_hell wrote:My closet is that big. My damn wife and her shoes!0 -

thanks. It was really very iffy with the rain...mudslides are a danger now too...and there is talk that with the clouds blowing out and a drop in humidity - red flag is prolly a matter of time.
but it is kind a cold at 70 degrees for me. (I am not kidding) the sun isnt "working"
Hey if the mudslides close in on your house, don't forget to pack your camera!
Tonight's ride home ought to be fun for us in teh northeast. a bit of sleet anyone? like driving on ice. fun, but not with 2 little ones in the car.I love to turn you on0 -
It's 5 degrees here... and getting dark at four O'Clock.
It's alright though. I can't say I LOVE it here.0 -

I'm located in Ottawa for school, LOVE it here, but I hate the stupid student house I'm living in. Still the city and the university make it soooooo worth it. The Ottawa Locks and Parliament Hill are just breathtaking and I love being 15 minutes away from them.
At home, I'm on a horse farm about an hour north of Toronto, which I also love. It's more our house, barn, property and the animals that I love than the actual location. Alliston's not too exciting other than our little bohemian coffee shop, but the farm is heaven and I'm really not that far from Toronto, so I can't complain.
Overall, give me the farm IN Ottawa and I'd be living in paradise.

Living in Morningside Heights, Manhattan.
I thought I'd like it more.
We are moving to a quieter and larger apartment next summer, maybe that will help.... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -
I normally live in the cotswolds in semi-rural england but at the moment I am at university in London. I never thought I would miss home, thinking it was so boring and the people were all the same. I thought I was a city guy stuck in the country. Turns out I miss home. I don't know if it's for the people or the place. I miss nature, stuck in south london is a fucking ugly concrete jungle. It's nice to be near actual places and actual people but I miss the laidback attitude. I can't wait til christmas when I get to go home. I haven't seen an open stretch of grass for a month. If it wasn't for my friends here I think I'd probably leave."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

Really? But do you have snow?
We rarely get extremes of anything here. Luke warm summers, mild winters, drizzle, sleet instead of snow... (most of the time).0 -

i do, born and raised in the bay area. perfect weather and so many things to do and beautiful places to visit. i'd be miserable if i lived somewhere remote!0

YES!
i love, love, love where i live! i despise the exhorbitant property taxes ...but otherwise, pretty damn near perfect for me/us! i adore our little home, and it's location. about 45 minutes by car or train right into NYC...so VERY close, yet still enough *space*....have ocean within 15-20 minutes drive north or south...city west......and farms/vineyards/hamptons out east. we are 'built up' enough that we have our own excellent eateries.....great shopping, movie theatres, historic homs/gardens/museums/attractions, etc....but so close to the city can commute daily to work - house is walking distance to the train station, or pop in for shows/dinner/socializing....i adore it. also, an excellent hub to live for travel abroad, particularly europe, so many flights/choices. born and raised here and plan to stay.
Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow0 -

But I got an internship right out of college that kept me here. And that led to other opportunities. And then, to make us happier we bought a house. Love the house, the community we live in is cute, but again, snow and taxes blow!
Someday we'll venture south...
It's compromise for now between my hubby and I.
I grew up 45 miles east of Syracuse and totally understand your feelings on the place. I thought Syracuse would be the place I eventually moved to when I got older. Funny, I moved to California! I do miss the snow and the quaintness of Upstate NY. California is crazy and I'm ready to leave in the next few years.0 -
BROOKLYN IN THE HOUSE !!!
LOVE ALL OF NYC (except staten island ) what a waste

you probly don't live far from me. im on the south end of lakeview, all but in lincoln park. love living here. the apartment im in now is also the nicest one i've ever lived in. i love it. winter can be tough though. i'd love to live in ireland or seattle or san fran... somewhere that's pretty much temperate year-round.0 -
I loved it when I lived down in SW Florida (Fort Myers). We were 10 minutes from the beach, tons of golf courses and good old sunshine all the time. We only lived there for 6 months but want to make the move back down there possibly as early as July '08. We're looking at the Fort Myers/Estero/Naples area specifically. My college roommate and his wife are from that area so it will be nice to have people we know down there. I really want to move. Sure, it's more expensive down there but the housing bubble has burst and it's much cheaper than it was 2 years ago when we moved down there. That was a big factor in us moving back here.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

Love the area, not as thrilled with the expense.
I live up the hill from downtown Seattle. I love being able to walk everywhere.
Unfortunately, I also love houses. Seriously, my husband says they are like my porn. But, to live near downtown, I will have to settle with living in apartments or a condo. The array of bars make for an easier adjustment.
Walking can be a real trip
