Just a sneak preview from the upcoming All Dog fall issue of Hot Valley Writers:

    LucytheDog-2-1.jpg

This is Lucy, one of my husband's dogs when he was growing up. She's smiling because she's eating the lounge chair. I love the piece of foam in her mouth.

We're still open for dog pictures thru 3 September. So send away!

Woof. "Hot Valley Writers" will include a gallery section for literary dogs in the Special Fall Dog Issue. So, even if your hound has not set word to paper, they can be a Hot Valley Writer. Send a picture by the end of Labor Day Weekend. Submissions from humans are also welcome. http://www.hotvalleywriters.com

I just got email telling me they are going to use my submitted story in the Doggie issue :D

You've got a day left - we're running behind. It's kind of hard putting together something like this. It's really good though - the contributions are incredible. I'm excited for everybody to see it.

And there's still time to send photos too. Probably until tonight.

Norm says he might need to be featured in the All Dog Hot Valley Writer's issue. Now that he's free of the cone of shame.

Seriously - I'm glad he's feeling better and on the mend.

does anyone else feel like their dog sometimes changes sizes?

sometimes, I look at gracie and she seems BIG. when she's crowding me off the bed with absolutely no regard for me, she seems BIG. but when she's curled up in a little ball.....she looks like a lap dog :D

I meant to mention....on sunday we went up to soldier hollow (site of the 2002 olympic cross county skiing) to see the sheepdog championship. let's just say those dogs are just a tad smarter than gracie  . amazing!

for some reason, most of the dogs have names like jim, don and tom. not a norm to be found!
