  • An extremely dedicated dog has continued to show its loyalty, keeping watch on its owner's grave six years after he passed away.

Capitan, a German shepherd, reportedly ran away from home after its owner, Miguel Guzman, died in 2006. A week later, the Guzman family found the dog sitting by his grave in central Argentina.

Miguel Guzman adopted Capitan in 2005 as a gift for his teenage son, Damian. And for the past six years, Capitan has continued to stand guard at Miguel's grave. The family says the dog rarely leaves the site.

"We searched for him, but he had vanished," widow Veronica Guzman told LaVoz.com. "We thought he must have got run over and died.

'The following Sunday we went to the cemetery, and Damian recognized his pet. Capitan came up to us, barking and wailing as if he were crying."

Adding to the unusual circumstances, Veronica says the family never brought Capitan to the cemetery before he was discovered there.

"It is a mystery how he managed to find the place," she said.

Cemetery director Hector Baccega says he and his staff have begun feeding and taking care of Capitan.

"He turned up here one day, all on his own, and started wandering all around the cemetery until he eventually found the tomb of his master," Baccega said.

"During the day he sometimes has a walk around the cemetery, but always rushes back to the grave. And every day, at six o'clock sharp, he lies down on top of the grave, stays there all night."

But the Guzman family hasn't abandoned Capitan. Damian says the family has tried to bring Capitan home several times but that he always returns to the cemetery on his own.

"I think he's going to be there until he dies, too. He's looking after my dad," he said.

Penny went to the vet yesterday for her annual check up. She's in great shape. I talked to the vet about her hearing loss. Since we adopted her, we've always noticed that her hearing isn't as good as Django's. The vet said he didn't think it was a hearing loss but something she was born with and her hearing never developed properly. He doesn't expect her to go deaf, she just has problems with some frequencies.

So now I think we have the answer to why Penny is so camera shy. The minute we turn on the camera, she goes and hides. I think it's the noise the camera makes, not the camera itself. If I'm already taking pictures of something, she doesn't mind it.

I will have to be sneaky and get more pictures of her. ;)

I know I haven't been here for a while...my last job was hard. Not the work itself, the way the doctors did things, and the fact that I'm holding so many horrible awful secrets.

Anyway, I came across this comic...it made me remember why I changed my job career. Maybe someday I will go back.

    Hello fellow 10 club members.

I know this is pathetic but I have to try and do what I can.

I awoke to my son screaming for help. He was witnessing our dog having a terrible seizure. I did everything I could and figured it would pass. Well it didnt. He continued to have 6 more serious seizures and then his feavor started to spike.

I then rushed him to the nearest Vet Hospital. He was given IV and meds to stop the seizures but it didnt work so they had to put him under. He is stable now but still under Anastasia.

Not having time to pick and choose what hospital I just went to the closest. Unfortunately they do not take payment plans and they do not have over night stay. So I have to get him by 5:30 pm pacific. I dont know what they will do if I dont come up with the funds but they discussed putting him to sleep.

I had to try to save the dog. So I have a few items on sale in the LD forum. If you can pass the word and help me out if you can buy some thing. I dont have any family and the 10 club is my only extended family.

    Thank You,

Heres a link to the Sale

Helllo, just moved in with friends who have a little doggie, a jack russel named Nails. Im a total cat person and a bit lost with Dogs, they can sense my evil i'm sure, but anyways he's my new little friend and affectionate when he's in the mood but I defiantley think he's a little confused by the new addition in the pack. Sometimes he just runs and snaps at me and then dashes off again. More of a nip than a bite but that needs to stop. He only does it when he's a bit stressed out , when lots of people are about. so basically need to assert my role within the pack, any handy hints? i've just started to feed him his meals so maybe he'll stop trying to bite the hand that feeds. I do love Nails...... but he's a bit of a shit. Help needed :)

Well, this has worked for me when a dog (usually a puppy) wants to nip while playing. When the nip happens, pull back very dramatically and say "OW!" very loudly. If 2 dogs are playing and one gets too rough, that is essentially what the other dog will do--yelp and stop playing. Try that first with Nails. It's not punitive and it lets him know he's not supposed to do that.
