not only is it a horrible thing it tarnishes the game we love
we disagree with charging it for him so lets just end this.and yes it most certianly does make the game we love look bad, but like other times this has happened people forget bout them.

    indefinitely ?

is a hearing even neccesary ?

what is there to be elaborated upon ?

the NHL dodged a bullet on this one- for sure.

what if Holly was injured seriously, ? Mamed , or even worse ?

they'd be calling for the heads of all the officials, the NHL executives, and while we are at it, the dolans ( ? ) OK- that last one is a reach- but you fellas get the drift.

Bet you if this was Crosby Simon would never play again...being a lesser known personality the NHL will take their sweet ass time as usual and finally make the wrong decision at the end of the day.....

im still iffy bout a hearing to, i mean does part of me say this needs to go to court just cause it was so dirty YES. but a part of me also says we dont neeed a hearing cause this is nothing new in this great sport that we all love. i think we all can put our love and hate for teams aside and say this isnt good for the game at all, espically after the lockout and the poor ratings as it is.

    sean avery is too much:

    NY Daily News
: Most Rangers, including coach Tom Renney, demurred when asked whether and how long Simon should be suspended. Avery spoke his mind, criticizing Campbell's three-game suspension of Devils winger Cam Janssen last week as too light for a late hit to the head of Toronto's Tomas Kaberle. "Let's just see if Colin Campbell finally does something about this stuff and doesn't give him three games like he gave that other meathead from New Jersey," Avery said.

    factoid from espn.com :

The Rangers defeated the Islanders 2-1, posting their third consecutive victory despite allowing the first goal in all three games -- the last two vs. the Islanders. It's only the second time in the last 40 years that the Rangers swept a home-and-home series in which their opponent scored first in both games.

    IMMONEN, LIFFITON REASSIGNED TO HARTFORD

    3/9/2007

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that center Jarkko Immonen and defenseman David Liffiton have been reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Immonen, 24, has appeared in 14 games with the Rangers this season, recording one goal and five assists, along with four penalty minutes. After being recalled from Hartford (AHL) on February 27, Immonen has skated in three of the last five games, registering two assists for the Blueshirts.

In 36 games with Hartford this season, the 6-0, 210-pound center has collected 27 points (10 goals and 17 assists), along with 20 penalty minutes.

Liffiton, 22, has collected one goal and nine assists, along with 150 penalty minutes in 59 games with Hartford (AHL) this season. The 6-2, 210-pound defenseman did not dress in last night’s game against the New York Islanders after his emergency recall from Hartford on March 6.

  • Look what Witt had to say

"It always looks worse," Witt said. "I saw the guy after the game, he looked fine. That's enough to tell me that it wasn't THAT bad. You know what I mean?

"The ref obviously thought it was clean," Witt said of Hollweg's hit. "Maybe if there had been a call, it would have never escalated to that."

So it wasn't THAT bad and it was the refs fault. What a bum.

I'm actually a little surprised at Witts comments.
Sometimes, its better to just not say anything at all.
Sean Avery , Colton Orr. and Ryan Hollweg will have something- just for Witt- on 3/25 and on 4/2 .
Those games will take on even more significance ( regardless if we are still chasing a playoff spot, or not ) , thanks to the fuckface Simon . The Garden East ( MSG 2 ) wll be rocking and rolling those nights. Look forward to fianl 2 sellouts out on Hmpstd Tpke.

    break out the Rye Bread

cuz here comes the Baloney

    powerful?
Given an extended two-man advantage, Pittsburgh could not come up with the goal. Lundqvist stopped the only real scoring threat, a redirection from Crosby who was positioned to the goaltender's right at 13:36.

The Rangers and Penguins will face each other two more times this season -- on March 19 at MSG and in the regular-season finale on April 7 at Mellon Arena. The Blueshirts are 2-2-2 against Pittsburgh this season.

    10/12/06.....PIT 6-5
    11/18/06.....PIT 3-1
    11/25/06.....NYR 2-1 (OT)
    12/7/06.......NYR 3-2 (SO)
    3/1/07.........PIT 4-3 (SO)
    3/10/07.......PIT 3-2 (OT)

again, Penguins were lucky to get away with the extra point on us.
After Shanny comes back, i pray we get Penguins in the 1st round of playoffs, ( i'd rather see Kansas City then New Jersey )

its clear of these 2 teams this season , none had been dominant over the other, To suggest otherwise , well, one sounds as sharp as a frozen hockey puck.

    huge win today.

i'll say it again , Matt Cullen had better be involved in any shootouts we may be engaged in. It must be a really bitter pill for the Canes to swallow seeing one of their stars shine like he has in the red white and blue. ( especially in shootouts - and their being totally un-winnable in them )

so now if we are poised in a tie with the Canes, we have them by virtue of games won , and then the next tie- breaker , head to head records.

Nice to see Jagr put the icing on the cake- clinching the shootout victory forr our beloved Blueshirts

i think the right call was made by the video judges about that goal that popped in and around near the goalline, but :

black tape should be banned from the blades of any goaltenders sticks in the future.
