whats mannys lifetime numbers at yankee stadium, or against the yankees?

he must be hurt alot, oh wait i guess not.

you realize how ridiculous your posts are?

dude, it's common knowledge, and widely reported that one of the reasons they finally had enough of him, and traded him, was that he faked a knee injury to get out of facing Felix Hernandez and Joba. When they sent him for the MRI, the idiot didn't know which knee hurt, so they MRI'ed both. Both came back clean. But don't let facts get in the way of a good argument. As we all know, facts, and the truth, have a well known Yankee bias.

Since I enjoy these discussions we have here, you and would hate to see you get banned, you should probably cut the name calling out. I mean seriously, and I've asked before based on some of your posts----are you 12?

you really wanna go there when one of your fellow Sox fans recently skulled a guy with an aluminum bat for the high crime of having a NY license plate? Perhaps we agree that violence over what team you root for is stupid, regardless of which side starts it. Unless you think every single Yankee fan would run over a rEd Sox fan if he saw them, and that it's okay for Sox fans to walk up to anyone with a NY plate and take batting practice on their head?

    From the Chicago Tribune
    DOUBLE TAKE

Red Sox nation not Yankee fan-friendlyJuly 8, 2008
A man was ordered held without bail Monday in Falmouth, Mass., for allegedly beating a New York man with a baseball bat because he thought the man was a Yankees fan. As it turned out, the New Yorker allegedly beaten in the land of the Red Sox isn't even a big baseball fan.

Police say Robert Correia, 20, and others spotted a car with New York license plates leaving a fireworks display Friday. The group approached the car and began yelling about the Yankees and proceeded to attack him and vandalize his car, according to police.

The victim, William Nestor, 29, of Northport, N.Y., said his family was traveling in two cars and stuck in heavy traffic after the fireworks on Cape Cod when he was attacked.

"When they saw the plates, they came at me," Nestor told the newspaper.

Nestor said he's not a particularly big baseball fan and didn't know the Red Sox were playing the rival Yankees over the weekend. He was treated and released from Falmouth Hospital.

Correia pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

you mean like when the Yankees signed Jose Contreras, and Theo destroyed a hotel room? When Theo booked every room in the hotel besides the one Contreras himself was staying in, to keep the Yankees away? Yup, he signed with the Yankees anyway

didn't pitch great, but good enough. pitched into and out of some trouble.

P.S. Sorry to anyone bothered by my jousting with fairweather Red Sox fans. I'm sure it's useless and annoying to anyone who just wants to talk Yankee Baseball.

pavano def. labored, but pitched well enough to give the yanks a chance to win, and i guess that is all you can really ask of him.

i am looking forward to his next start.

Man, the Angels are really hurting the Yankees. First they beat us like nothing. Then lose to teams in front of us in the standings. They lose 2 of 3 to Tampa. Then the first 2 games against the Twins. And now are in the verge of blowing a 6-1 lead. Now 6-5.

that reminded of the joke about Randy Johnson being the Ultimate Yankee killer:
He killed them when he was a Mariner
He killed them when he was a DBack
And most of all, he killed them when he was a Yankee

nice. Hopefully Toronto stays hot tomorrow. Matsuwalksalotofguys vs. Burnett. And the Yankees finally hit Cabrera. hasn't been a problem for the rest of baseball.

Then we get to the main event

    Pettitte vs. Wakefield
Ponson vs. Byrd (oooof, should be a slugfest, unless Byrd has been to his dentist for some HGH lately)
    Mussina vs. Lester

I like Pettitte over Wakefield, and Mussina over Lester. The middle game though, who knows.

  • 4 or 5, I think they absolutely have to take 2 of 3. Can't afford to lose ground and take 3 games off the schedule. Puts some pressure on Pettitte, but there's noone I'd rather have on the mound with the pressure turned up a bit. If they can knock Wakefield out early and get into that bullpen, it would be huge. It's not that good to begin with outside of the closer, and they've been overworked quite a bit lately

I'm a little more optimistic after the last two games. Maybe teams need to get humiliated so bad like Thursday in Toronto that they feel some of their pride is lost that they restore it by grinding out wins like they've done the last two nights. That being said, they have to sweep the Orioles. I hate winning series when they've won the first two games and dropped the third.

  • I remember a few years ago they got no-hit by 6 Astro pitchers, and immediately afterwards went on a crazy hot streak, like 18 out of 20 or something like that

That was 2003. They were 16-3 in the following 19 games. Of course with the exception of a three-game sweep of St. Louis and the finale vs. Houston, seven of those games were against Tampa Bay and six were against the Mets, two teams that were awful that season.

exactly like x man said, that was 03...thats why, its stuff like that that I never give up on with the Yankees till the very last game. And yea I absolUTELY think we take 2-3 or even sweep these guys! I like how no SAHX fans are here right b4 this big series...they'll be waiting to see if they beat us to come here in this thread. Only one I expect is g under p ;)
