and here's another one that can only talk shit after their team wins. i wonder if you would have had the balls to say anything if that 1-0 score held up?

I'm surprised they didn't charge Damon with an error on that go ahead run.

  • Yanks haven't won a series opener since the July series vs. Boston. In almost a month. Tonight makes 7 series in a row. Damn.

What really pisses me off is this.....Yanks have not played amazing teams the past few weeks (Texas, KC, Toronto, Etc) yet it seems those teams have so much more passion and heart than the Yanks. Even tonight the shaky Jays who are in 2nd to last,...these guys are jumping around screaming in the dugout, looking like they really want to win. Same with Texas. Every player was up on the dugout steps. The Yanks just chew seeds and sit there emotionless. Girardi & Joba are the only ones who ever looks intense. To me at least......

Shaky Jays? Your Yankees aren't much better off seeing they're only a game ahead of them.
  • I was afraid Matsui coming back would do more harm than good, a la 2006 Playoffs with Matsui and Sheffield. They need to lock Gardner in at CF, and let the Millionaires Club fight it out for themsleves. Damon, Matsui, Giambi. Let them split DH/1B. The best team they can put on the field has Abreu/Gardner/Nady in the OF

Damon's played CF long enough to catch those balls. He was under them. Just didn't catch them. Where is our offense?

true, but he's a liability out there. gardner is much better. I hope Girardi puts the best team out there on the field, and doesn't make the lineup based on salaries. Damon's the 3rd best CF on this team

Even though Damon's in a slump. He's still a better hitter than Gardner. But if we see more of this from Damon. Gardner will get more playing time.

  • agreed, I was just talking defensively. Let Damon DH, and Matsui pinch hit. He's been away a long time, there's no guarantee he'll hit right away. Or maybe Damon in left and Nady at 1B, if he could handle first base.

I didn't see the game! I was at work! But I heard the beginning on the radio and it sounded like he got robbed at his first AB of a hit. He went 0 for 3 though.

He was running regular speed. It wasn't Manny like. He saw the ball roll further and decided to stretch it out. He slowed down when he got to 1st base. He stumbled it a bit turning. It looked like a should I or shouldn't I go for it type. I don't blame him for trying though.

I saw it after posting, it looked like he hesitated for a split second thinking it might go foul. I guess when the offense stinks, you have to take some chances.
