I heard on the radio the other day that tix for the final regular season game at The Stadium were listing for as much as $17,000 online. :eek: Don't they know that there will be more games in the Bronx during the postseason? Tix for last game at Shea were listing for as high as $3,500 I think.

cervelli was viewed as the primary in-house candidate to eventually replace jorge posada. he'll be out 8-10 weeks.

i guess it's not the kid's fault. he was just following orders. the rays (god that's an awful name) are an organization that breeds attitude problems, and this is an example of why. this was the second time in less than a week that they made headlines for running over a catcher. it seems like they take pride in playing baseball the wrong way.
what really bothers me is joe maddon's response. he may have ruined the career of a promising 22-year old, and all he has to say about it is a bunch of sarcastic bullshit about itunes and red wine. baseball doesn't need losers like him.
i'll bet that josh hamilton, delmon young, and elijah dukes would have turned out much differently if they had been developed by a competent organization. such a waste of talent...

i definitely wouldn't mind seeing crawford in pinstripes, but let's see how melky, tabata, ajax, and gardner do this year. if all goes well, they might not even need crawford.
