you have a good job and a gf. You have a life :) Hence, you are not a loser. You just have 'downtime' at work and an IT dept that doesn't monitor what you do, evidently :p

  • i still have little confidence in farnsworth, but from the looks of it he is throwing from the windup now instead of the stretch and that has changed the release point and he threw a 1-2-3 inning last night and monday.

Michael Kay said that the yanks will face the indians in the ALDS and the red sox will face the angels? Is that right guys?

    If so,
PHEW! The Indians will be tough but I think we have a better shot than if we had to see the freaking Angels AGAIN!

i think you are right... they will be facing the indians in the first round.

it's going to be an interesting playoffs in the AL i think. if the yanks beat the indians first round, would you want them to play the sox or angels? angels own the yankees, and i could not take the possibility of the sox beating the yanks again in the ALCS.

    fuck em.

they play who they play, i for one think they can beat the angels. remember unless the pitchers on the angels have made some drastic adjustments to mechanics, the yankees should have a better idea about them simply because they have a catcher who knows about them - Jose Molina.

Breaking the "Rules:" As Torre confirmed in New York on Monday, the Yankees plan to use Chamberlain on back-to-back days at some point in their final stretch to prepare him for a similar assignment in the postseason.

That could happen as soon as this week, though Torre said he would wait until the Yankees clinched a playoff spot before experimenting with the 22-year-old setup man.

"Once we win a game, we can do a lot of stuff," Torre said.

Additionally, the Yankees plan to schedule a day for Roger Clemens (left hamstring tweak) to throw in a simulated game sometime before the playoffs begin. Torre said that he had no problem in waiting on Clemens as a member of his potential American League Division Series rotation because of the 45-year-old's impressive resume.

"We're waiting on him because of who he is and what he is," Torre said. "It's not that he needs to pitch because he's Roger Clemens. It's that you want him to pitch because he's Roger Clemens and he can do things that other people can't do."

the public on sale date is friday (9/28) at 10 AM for any tickets that aren't claimed by lottery winners.

there will be plenty of tickets left over, maybe not for every game but definitely for some.

last year, i got tickets through the public sale for game 2 of the ALDS and game 6 of the ALCS. the ALCS seats were actually pretty good, or at least they would have been if the game had been played.

And to think I remember the '96 playoffs when my bleacher seat was about 11 bucks for the first round, 18 for the LCS and 25 for the World Series..
