something just occurred to me: is it possible that this whole thing is really just about barry bonds?
last week, selig gave giambi two weeks to comply. at that point, bonds was nine home runs away from hank aaron. the timing of selig's deadline to giambi may have been in direct response to this. when selig asks for "full cooperation," it means very specifically that he wants giambi to point the finger at bonds. while this wouldn't give selig enough evidence to suspend bonds, it would certainly give him a legitimate excuse to not be present when bonds breaks the record.
that's what it's all about: bud selig's image. he wants to look like the good guy here. well you know what? it's way too late for that.
if he's really worried about his image, maybe he should go over to the barber shop and say, "here's $20. i'm tired of looking like an asshole."
as for giambi, he may be a cheater, but i don't think he's a rat. bud selig is wasting everyone's time with this.0 -

as funny as that is, i think he'd need a whole lot more than a $20 haircut to stop looking like an asshole."PC Load Letter?! What the fuck does that mean?"

It won't be the same...but here's to a great season!
I miss Bernie. This year, it's just not the same. Yes, his skills were diminishing, but I still think he deserved a roster spot.
Viva La Bernie!My lips are shaking.......0 -

Interesting read. Was that what they used before the series or after the series?
Because if it is what they used it did not work too wellCharlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
Dear Yankees Fan,
Due to the huge attendance at all the games
against the Mets this weekend, The New York
Yankees strongly urge all fans that are coming
to games this weekend to use public transportation
as it is the easiest way to get to Yankee Stadium.
Parking is limited as a result of street and
parking lot closures in the area around the
current stadium. Please budget time when planning
your trip.

options to Yankee Stadium, please click

Wang vs. El Duque tonight. Should be a good one.
The topic of baseball movies came up earlier in the thread and that Jimmy Fallon flick about the red sox was mentioned. I saw a much better movie about the sox this weekend called "Still We Believe". It documents the 2003 season and culminates in the pure bliss of watching Aaron Boone go yard off Wakefield in Game 7 of the ALCS. I love happy endings.

Right now the important number is 3.5 out of the wild card. Many teams in recent years have won the World Series from the wild card position.
The yankees are playing very good baseball. They just need to stay focused and healthy.
The reason the yankees are so far behind the red sox is their pitching staff was in shambles for the first month and a half.
Their are still 90 something games to be played plenty of time to make up plenty of ground.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

The strains of "Enter Sandman" ring through Yankee Stadium, a door opens in the outfield wall and out walks the most dominant closer in the history of the game. Mariano Rivera has taken the mound under the brightest of spotlights for the last decade and delivered inning upon inning of brilliant relief -- breaking bats and killing dreams all along the way.
There are two versions of this figure. Once with the bullpen and one without. There is no guarantee of which version you will receive. Item sold AS-IS with no refunds or exchanges for this reason.
