let me ask you this. and let it be known..i think they should be punished for this, however, i think its a big leap to say he's done it his whole career..and that is why the pats won 3 superbowls.

If someone committs a crime....does that mean they've been doing it their whole lives (that crime)?

i honestly don't even know why i'm bothering to post this but from a yahoo article...

Cheating is everywhere. And it can be confusing, each sport has a different culture. In golf, you can't improve your lie an inch, yet in soccer flopping is considered a skill. In baseball, cheating pitchers are colorful but corked-bat hitters are condemned. In NASCAR, a crew chief that isn't pushing the legal limits of engineering isn't doing his job. College sports is often hailed for its "purity," yet illegal recruiting is so prevalent former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian once surmised, "Nine out of 10 teams are cheating, the other is in last place."

and i'm not justifying what the pats did (and i don't think the other pats fans in this thread are either), but let me try to understand this. if all 32 teams in the nfl (ie - everyone) does it (cheat/study other teams signals/etc) but ONE team gets caught then somehow they are a bunch of cheaters and the other 31 teams aren't?

and i love the fact that if it was a crappy team that was caught it wouldn't be as big of a deal. that's retarded ass-backwards thinking if i've ever seen it.

Honestly, do you really think the Pats are the only team that has done this?

    Give me an honest answer.

I just quoted the wrong reply. Hahhahahaa.

honestly ,,, im sure teams watch tapes of games and study play calling and what not

but in all honesty,, i cant believe that other teams have one of their employees stand on the other teams sidelines and tape the coaches and players..its absurd

why would a team let the other team do this?? i cant believe people think it happens all the time

this guy doesnt wear pats clothes and tries to blend in like he is doing nothing but he is taping the coaches

so i do believe they are the only one
how can u have the balls to put a guy on the other side to tape the coaches
i mean if it was allowed ,,and normal
why not just have all the teams share the info with each other??

Mangini knew what the Patriots were doing all along, because he learned it from Bill. He lost the game at home and wanted to get back at Bill and the Patriots.

However, the best way for them to do just is to crush the Patriots in Gillette Stadium.

Some scathing analysis of the Pats in SI by two of footballs most respected writers:

Any Pats fan who doesn't realize that their legacy has been completely washed away by this is kidding themselves, its a stigma that will last forever when talking about 2000-2006. Congrats, you root for the league joke again!

Just heard some further info, the report that Mangina had the camera and tape confiscated just before halftime was off a tad.

They took it 8 minutes into the first quarter.

The staff never saw any of what was on it, yet they stomped the lowly Jets 38-14.

So they broke a rule and got caught. Belichick claims he interpreted the rule differently (which may well be bs to cover his ass), and they'll get an appropriate punishment from the commish.

However this gave them no advantage last Sunday as so many want to claim. So the reason they beat the Jets so badly was talent and coaching.
Sorry NYers, your 2 football team may not win 10 games combined this year.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Did you read this line from Banks' column?
three Super Bowl championships. If those successes were all legitimate, as they very likely were

Yes, and that is more or less the point...pre-HGH and the spy-gate, NO ONE would use the words "very likely were" to describe the legitimacy of the Pats SBs.

It knocks their franchise down completely, and the questions will remain. Also, what if this is just the tip of the iceberg?

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't want the championship teams that I follow to have a "very likely were" tag attached to them....and some sports writers have gone even further than Banks.
