how sad and pathetic is your life that posting this is one of the first things you do in your day?
and hey, why don't your boys the rangers go buy another cup like they did in 94 instead of sucking complete and total ass year after year after year? i barely watch hockey so feel free to blast the bruins all you want.

as for the rangers obviously u know zero so i wont answer that
but i still think he should have been suspended for a few games, at least
and solat13... mark schlereth last night said that it was a huge advantage...and that when he was a pro player in the nfl if he knew what play was coming and where... it would get stuffed every time. basicly an ex nfl player agree's that it is a HUGE advantage to know what play is coming. so much for being "the dumbest thing you have ever seen here" .... now i wont insult your statement, but i could VERY easily point out how naive it was
They were once the Titans and changed the name to Jets when they began playing in the shadows of Laguardia Airport. The second ctier NFL franchise from New York is contemplating another team name change as a new era approaches and a new stadium is built in northern New Jersey. The new name to be revealed later today in a press conference at the Hess family estate will be the New York/New Jersey Canaries. Ownership believes that incorporating New Jersey into the team title will be more geographically correct, will help incorporate more fans and will aid in getting the team out of the shadow of the New York Giants, a team with far more tradition and history. No longer playing in Flushing, the name Jets no longer seemed appropriate, so following coach Mangini's Soprano-esque ratting out of his former employer, mangaement felt Canaries was suitable. A decision to change the team colors to canary yellow will be announced following league approval, which is a mere formality as commisioner Roger Goodell has been quoted as being in favor of the name change.

Schlereth also said the pats should forfeit the game because of the huge advantage, even though Goodell said the Pats never saw the tape.
And Sean Salisbury said it was almost no advantage, and he's a former QB who would know a bit about the advantage of knowing a defensive opponents calls.
If you're hanging your hat on Mark Schlereth, best of luck.

yeah, i don't think you need to have played in the nfl to know this.
i don't hate the patriots...i'm kind of indifferent towards them...but i'm not sure how so many people are defending this....
I know this is the point where Pats fans have to be all mancho and say that the penalty was weak and won't matter, but if you think losing one of your top picks is no "big whoop"....then why even watch football? You clearly know nothing about it.
Take a look at the Pats 1st and 2nd round picks over the last 6 years and then remove one of those players from the roster, its a significant loss. Not to mention scouts.com calls the 2008 draft one of the best in recent memory.
*yawn* 3 rings most dominant franchise in the last 7 years
Don't you realize the biggest impact of this whole thing is you can't use this line anymore....those Championships (right or wrong) are officially under a shadow of doubt. The Pats are a nobody again, unless then win the title this year.

Don't you meant until they win the title this year.
He should have been suspended 4 games. Though the penalty is stiff, it has absolutely no impact on this season, which is ridiculous. The Patriots are now the Barry Bonds of the football world, and as tough as Goodell has been, he should have done something that would penalize them for this season.

What he was saying is they have plenty of picks via trades with other teams that this will not affect them as badly as it may have other teams. Bottom line is there should have been some kind of suspension as well for Bellecock.

If they gained the pick because of the trade, then that means they came up on the short end of the trade. Its all equal, and the power of a 1st round pick (no matter how many a team has) is significant.

Actually losing a first rounder is a very severe penalty, frankly much harsher than Belichick getting a supsension. Those who think otherwise are foolhardy. The Pats would be fine without Belichick for a game or 2, the loss of a #1 even though it will likely be the 32nd overall, will impact the team for the better part of a decade. I was surprised, thought he'd grab a 3rd and a 5th or something.
The penalty is mitigated by the fact that the Pats own SF's 2008 #1, but the impact will still be lasting and possibly severe.
Think about this team without say Vince Wilfork. Thats what the penalty amounts to on top of the cash.

But losing a pick has no impact on this season. I would rather them take away a second and suspend Belichick. Basically, the Pats arent going to be punished until the offseason which I think is BS.

Yeah but the overall impact is far more severe. You take Belichick away Sunday night, do you think that affects the game that much at this point. The preparation is all done by this point in the week, they've viewed the videotape of last years playoff game defensive hand signals extensively (oh wait SD has an entirely new coaching staff so how will that help?), and the coordianators will call the plays anyway. Belichick's absence might come into play for a few decisions like 4th down or challenge situations, but even if the pats forfeit the Jets game and lose Bill this week and got beat as a result, they still win the AFC East in a walk, at like 12-4 while the Jets finish 1-15 thanks to their tainted forfeit win, the Dolphins go 6-10 and the Bills 7-9.
But losing an impact player for 10 years hurts the team a lot more. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

If you take him away for 4 straight games and give him no contact with the team, then yes, I think that severely hurts their team and is an appropriate penalty. Wade Wilson was suspended for something that has no impact on the game. Yet, Belichick has obviously done something that does have a direct impact on games, yet isnt suspended. I agree the penalty is stiff, but I still think it warrants a suspension.

yeah sure they do. oh wait - didn't the pats beat them a couple times to get INTO the super bowl? yup, they did.
