  • Be intresting to see what the penalty for this is, could be a few draft picks or more. The NFL will take this very seriously due to the fact the other owners will be very upset if the Pats cheating could have cost thier teams wins and or playoff spots.

nah he wasnt filming the coaches

what a shithead move on their part
  • this is probably just belichick trying to disrupt the other teams thinking for the rest of the season. paranoid other teams will be all out looking for spies while brady and moss are lighting it up.

  • I asked a friend of mine who works in the nfl, and he said it wasnt a very big deal amonst their own, that the media made a big deal out of it because it was the pats/jets, he went on to say at least 15 teams were penalized last year for this. To say they didnt earn their rings is ludicrious, not to mention I am an Eagles fan.
I cant believe some of you get so crazy as to making threats over media statements to fellow pj fans. Has following this band through your youth taught you nothing.

Nfl ass. coaches get paid mainly to go over film all week and scout teams, they look for an edge, you dont think they have a recorder on the play caling, your nuts and living a dream if you think not.

The reason the pats got caught is probably because of their coach holding a grudge over belichick, he probably was more concerned about busting the pats than his own team.
I mean look at this from the outside in, it was also still somewhat a close game, it wasnt 45 to 0 likje 1 would think.

  • This is so dumb. And what good does it do the Pats? None. Even if you know the play that's being called, you still have to stop it. When it's 4th and 1, you basically know what's gonna happen, and you still have to stop it. Dumb. That said, players/teams in many sports try to figure out what the other team is saying/doing. Pitchers never used to cover their faces when catchers came out for a chat on the mound, but nowadays they put their gloves over their mouths because of these shenanigans. Basketball teams change their defensive/offensive plays sometimes during the game because of this.

Nice lesson for the kids. Cheaters never win in the end.

That said (hypocritically maybe) - GO COWBOYS!!! :D

    they cheated. period.

i hope they have a major fine and take at least 2 first round picks.

the NFL has to make an example of this. they have to send a message to the other teams that it is not worth cheating like this. especially in todays highly advanced technological world. the possibilities are endless. i have always wondered if some teams have found a way to listen in to the radio between the QB and coach?

my friend told me yesterday that the NFL has been voting yearly to have 1 defensive player allowed to have a helmet radio, like they do on offense. alot of teams want this and vote for it, apparently the patriots have voted against it every time. and now we see why.

    fucking cheaters
  • i don't give a rat's ass the jets will suck even if they had every teams play book they still won't win more then 3 games, ok fuck the excuses the game still has to be played by the players on the field mangini is an ass just like belichick they come from the same mold .....and i hate the pat's also .....
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

Where did I say they allow it, they usually defend against it, they expect it, besides they did it from the booth not the field, how the fuck can a camera guy relay measages while he is taping, they have all their key assiatants in the boxes, they can see it while it takes place, the pats for some reason were caught, either a rat in the staff, or the jets were all over it. Or it was their turn to be watched from the nfl.
San fran was busted early last year for this and it was not blown up.

it was a blowout dude, 38-14

although it was 14-7 at half... then they lit them up in the 2nd half. coincidence? i think not. i bet they immediately started stealing their calls, which lead to the 2nd half domination
  • how do they allow taping,

the whole game is taped, do you ever see the pictures being scanned on the filed with the players on the phone, the defense has a player designated to watch the singles than audible, where do you think he gets his info from, the coaches in the booth, also a good coach sends a player in with the call, than the coordiantor reads the formation

cheating is a stretch, how about rule breaking
just like steroids, I hate them but the fact is these idiiots take them.

Cheating would be breaking a law of the game not a rule.

Paying off a ref, having an illeagal player, fixing a game.

If the Pats lose more than a 5th round draft pick, I'll be surprised. They'll probably get fined. It's no difference than stealing signs in baseball. I know a couple of teams accused the Phillies of that a few weeks at Citizen's Bank park. I don't remember anyone on the board making a big deal about it. Teams always look for an edge. I remember when I played football, if our team played on Saturday and the team we were playing next week played on Friday, a bunch of us would go to the future opponent's games so that we learned their audibles and calls. You still have to win on the field so I really don't think this is a big deal at all.

Teams steal calls all the time, your crazy if you think not.

The jets coaches should be to blame, I caught the highlights, wasnt the game closer after the jets last t.d., they should of had a system to protect this especially with the jets coach working for the pats all those years, the coach and front office prob cryed their eyes out after the loss, instead of realizing they arent as good a team nor organazation, not a direct shot at the jets because the eagles didnt make the moves to win like the pats either.
But sloat 13 makes good point it happens in basesball too

if NFL teams always stole signs and knew what the other defense was running all the time, the scores would always be in the 40's

or vice versa, if they knew what the offensive play was all the time, teams would never score.
  • the refs cheat for them too...remember the forward pass in that raider playoff game in the snow years ago. that no doubt was a fucking fumble and the raiders got robbed out of a super bowl.

Pretty much my point earlier. Its something teams do, Mangini knew the Pats do it cause he used to do it with them and does it with the Jets.
In the end, more than the Pats being "cheaters" you'll likely find that Mangini broke an unwritten coaching rule and ratted out a common practice cause he was upset at getting his ass handed to him on opening weekend. Dumb move by a young coach.

Than you have not followed sports, more than half the plays get changed at the line of scrimmage, and this is why teams have playfakes, teams have ways of faking plays and a good solid team well coached sends players in with the call.
The jets were outcoached if this made a differance.

It doesnt make it right, but your talking a million dollar business

Honestly, that is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on here. Vince Lombardi's playbook was 2 sides of 1 piece of paper. Teams knew exactly that he was going to run the power sweep over and over and over. And he still won 5 titles ... why because of his players execution on the field.

Look at the Eagles against the Saints last year in the playoffs. Everyone knew they were going to kill the clock with Duece McCallistar running dive plays at the end of the game. Correct my memory, but did the Eagles stop him short of a first down or did the Saints run the clock out?

Seriously, knowing the plays or tendencies is all fine and dandy but worthless if your team can't execute.
