  • Until you present somthing from a peer reviewed journal (ie something that is NOT Bullshit) I will assume you are full of shit, because you are. If you want to play the anecdotal evidence game I have talked to a couple of doctors about a vegan diet and all they have told me is that I need to make sure I'm taking the required amount of B Vitamins. I have read many articles that cite sources and are from peer reviewed journals that state that many Americans are in excess of protien, and there are several studies that have concluded that an excess of protien can lead to osteoperosis. I have also read studies that have concluded that over 70% of vegetarians either meet or exceed protien requirements. I know you probably haven't been to college, but in the future you should consider backing up outrageous opinions with some kind of article or study from a peer reviewed journal. By the way, here is an article about a woman from China that is 120 years old and has been vegetarian here entire life and has probably not been "eating beans 24 hours a day". And by the way I could make a website saying that George Bush fucked my mom and took a shit on a chocolate cake but it wouldn't be true....or would it?

this just reinforced my vegetarianism, i couldn't watch parts of it. just thought i'd post the link here because i can't even think straight right now, but i hate preaching, and don't want to send it to my friends (all of whom eat animals), so i thought i'd put it here and hear what you all had to say about it.
Oh my god i love meat ,especially red meat, i love the smell of it and the look of it even raw. i love eating fillet steak rare with all the blood in the middle. im a complete carnivore

To each their own, but I don't think I could ever stop eating meat. I eat it 2-3 times a day.

  • my information comes from working with patients with PKU. i don't have the time to find links but that should help you. the nutritionalists at riverside hospital in indianapolis and st josephs childrens hospital in phoenix all say you cannot survive on a veggie diet unless you can eat beans 24 hours a day to get the necessary protien the body needs. thus the suppliment. the starvation of protien from the organs brings the largest amount of damage. the way it was explained to me is that the internal organs will consume themselves to provide the necessary nutrition to the brain. i don't know what you consider healthy or if you can see the damage yourself; but i'm repeating what i've been told by doctors and not some bullshit websites trying to sell something. i can make a website myself in 2 hours so take that for what it's worth.

The starvation of protein will cause your muscles (and sometimes organs) to break themselves down for fuel, that's true. Protein can't be stored in the body for much longer than 3 hours. After 3-4 hours, your body will start to break down muscle unless you ingest more protein. That's why body builders eat 6-7 times a day.

As far as I've read, there's no risks involved with being a vegan or vegetarian as long as you know the difference between animal protein and other forms. Typically, animal protein contains all the essential amino acids the body needs, whereas vegetables don't. So in this regard, meat is the best choice. That doesn't make it the only choice though. I believe there are combinations of non-animal protein that can provide all the essential amino acids that the body needs.

haha, fuck yeah. it's even at the Wachovia Center, which is awesome.

I have no interest in seeing such an event, it'd ruin me on wings which would suck because I *love* chicken wings. I haven't eaten a hot dog since seeing "highlights" (loosely-used term) of that hotdog eating championship that was on tv a few months ago. Ugh.

Dude, there's nothing like tailgating at 1 am for an event that starts at 6 am lol.

i posted this link earlier but you may have missed it. http://www.eatwild.com the information there will be most helpful. i only eat buffalo raised naturally. i'll enjoy the occational elk but mostly buffalo. my health has improved greatly and i feel much better.
on the other hand; it's proven that a human cannot sustain life on a veggie diet. there's a suppliment you can buy for approximately $700 USD/month which will allow a veggie diet but why bother. check out that link for some good info. the name is misleading. it has more to do with beef; chicken and turkey than anything else. pm me if you'd like more info.
That elk meat sounds like some good eating...........yummmmmmmmmm

The best thing is the roar that goes through the arena at 7 am when the Wachovia Center is legally allowed to sell beer.

You haven't lived until you have seen a sporting arena with lines 20 deep to buy beer at 7 am.

    B. What is addition research?
    C. One of the doctors I talked to happened to be the head of cardiology at OHSU, so he probably knows alot more about nutrition than you do

i just had my protein, iron, and a bunch of other enzymes and nutrients looked at in some blood work, i was above the average for my age group, i've done this without meat, without eating beans 24 hours a day, just having a normal, varied, healthy diet

I eat meat, every kind, I like it too much.

I am aware that animal cruelty exists everywhere, I think chickens are the ones who have it worst (at least here) so I do try to make sure that the meat I'm buying is from animals that have had a decent treatment.

as long as the protien isn't coming from the metabolization of muscle or internal organs you're doing great.
    best of luck
