I think it is pretty correct too. I am catholic, and I don't think I could have said it any better myself. I am not sure how other denomations get us soooooo screwed up? Uhmmmm?
i dont know either. but some of the things the southern baptists say about catholics are pretty out there. ive never understood the hatred that flows so freely from that religion. it's second only to radical islam.

No kidding. Where I'm from is overwhelmingly Southern Baptist, and I can see what you mean (though I have a hard time comparing it to radical Islam). My main problem with it is the "Better Than Thou" attitude that comes from it. Sure, denial of temptation is important, but so is helping your brother man, regardless of who or what he is.
What they can't seem to grasp is that you can indeed be Catholic and opposed to abortion, while simultaneously thinking that it would be wrong to attempt to force your presonal religious beliefs on your constituents.
THAT is the real issue to me. believe what you want to believe.....follow your faith, even try and spread your beliefs if that's your thing...but yes, do not try and FORCE your personally held beliefs onto others who do not follow the same beliefs.
1. Trinity - It's a concept of The Father, the Son, & The Holy Spirit all being one of the same entity. I understand why it sounds contradictory, but to Christians they are of the same.
2. Catholics honor Mary, but do not worship her. God choose her to bear Christ, so they honor her. I honor my mom, but do not worship her. Catholics just take that concept to a much higher level.
3. From my understanding (I am not Catholic but have been involved with Catholics), praying to the saints is more like askign them to pray for you in heaven. You know how the Priest will ask the Congregation to pray for this or that? Same thing. Perhaps someone more schooled can chip in.
So in summary, Holy Trinity = God and God is worshipped. Saints are merely honored and asked to pray for us. Not polytheistic.
Like I said before if you walk into any Catholic churches that are just as many statues/images/icons of Mary as there are of Christ. Catholics don't just 'honor' her, they bow down before her and pray directly to her. they worhsip her. Just like they pray to and worship the saints. A Catholic cardinal who was shot once attributed his survival to one of these Saints (I forget which - maybe Larry, or Mo) saying he must have intervened and moved the bullet slightly. So in all cases you have figures additional to God who are also prayed to, idolised (literally - and in the way that the Old Testament strictly prohibits) and they are even assumed to have their own supernatural powers with which they intervene in wordly affairs. As I stated before this is Polytheism in all but name.
As to the concept of the Trinity, simply to state that 'to Catholics they are the same' isn't really a satisyfing explanation of such nonsensical mumbo-jumbo is it. That's like me saying 2 + 2 = 5 and when you ask for an explantion I simply say my mate Fred down the read said it is.
Catholicism is considered to be a monotheist religion and insists it is, but in reality it clearly isn't.

Thank you, gentlemen. I've had practice defending the Catholic denomination against my hardcore Protestant buddies.

This is an article about a French geneticist who believed life begins at conception.
He had many great discoveries in his lifetime, as well.

But I agree with the weird part.
