okay so, Conan O'Brien landed to Finland yesterday. and was greeted like a rock star. :D hundreds of fans were at the airport to welcome him.
after landing O'Brien delivered a speech in Finnish and for what I heard from the news, it didn't sound that bad. :p

as far as I know, no Finns have yet done anything embarrassing that could end up in his show. :D

Hm, it's weird that Finland and Norway almost have no connection, despite being that close to each other.

why are you bashing them? at least we've got the reason of Finland having been under Swedens control. :p

I wonder that too. any Swedes here who could tell us? :)

it really is. but isn't the goal nowadays to tighten up the cooperation between the Nordic countries? :)

Haha, well same thing goes for us. We've been under their control too. Damn those power-hungry swedes, huh?

Yeah, guess it is. About time really. We gotta get off our high horses and start co-operating some more. We suck in that..

oh yeah, right. didn't remember that. way to go me, I should really start studying harder for the final exams.. one of the exams is history.

well, who wouldn't be power hungry? especially these days?

very true my Nordic friend, very true. :o we need to find some other things we have in common than just bashing the Swedes. lol. and we need to get Sweden in too! :)

Haha, no worries! Hey, if I weren't from Norway I probably wouldn't have cared about the norwegian history at all either. Seriously, we didn't get interesting until we found the oil
Oh, except for the Viking stuff, but we're not really that proud of that part of our history. I'm sure you'll do great on ur exams. :) Hell, i don't have a clue about your history, except that you've been under the control of sweden ;)

thank you. :) luckily I'm taking the history test as a sort of "extra" exam and religion as the obligatory one. I love history but I only remember the interesting parts. lol.

we've been under the control of Russia too, FYI. we "got out" in 1917 and so our independence day is December 6th. ;)

lol, yeah, know the feeling! Ah,. hate exams about stuff I have no interest in. I really don't care how they wrote on Iceland 400 years ago, no matter how much my teacher is trying to tell me that it's "quite interesting and useful to understand our modern language today." If I wanted to know, I'd searched for the info on my own :p Damn, i'm really not looking forward for the exams.

Hey, I'm getting educated on Finland today! Now I only wish that could one of the themes in my history class :D

maybe Finland's history will be one of the themes someday. :D until that, you can just brag with knowing the stuff. :p

Anyway, enjoy studying! Now THAT's a way to spend a Sunday on.

hmm. a while ago someone, IndianSummer I believe (if I remember correctly) asked me about our language. well, I did answer the questions then, hopefully well, but I found this and thought it was quite interesting.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_language

it's fun for me also to read it cause it's amusing how something I find so simple can look very difficult. :D

I just got my new Piippo Tikkataulu (Finn dartboard) in the mail today. I'm pumped. Some kids stole my old one off my shed last year. I laughed because it says in the official rules that you are not allowed to play Finnish darts while intoxicated. I'm not sure if I have ever played without a beer beside me.

Is it an entirely different game board from regular darts? Just curious. Because what fun, except for the thrill of stealing would those kids have gotten if they didn't know what it was for.

lol. I had no clue it says that in the official rules. :p then again, I've never played darts let alone read the official rules. :)

well, I wouldn't worry, I'm sure quite a few Finns play the darts under intoxication.

    It looks like that.

Whoever stole it just shredded it. I found the remnants in a lane behind my house after I realized it was missing. It was my fault for not putting it away anyway. Damn beer and barbeque.
