i support you on this. canada is a bilingual country (at least parts). you knew this since you could speak and you were taught both languages. but in america; we're trying to change horses in the middle of the river. this is insane.

One stupid person wanting to fly the Mexican flag at a high school is a long way from Mexicans wanting to take over this country. This is an instance of a few idiots making stupid suggestions. So in reality there is no government building that only flies the mexican flag and there is no library that has banned all english books. Just a handfull of people making outrageous demands that will never be met. Way to over-exaggerate the case though.

What I just read was that ONE GUY somewhere said that they should fly a Mexican flag over a school where the majority of kids were Hispanic. I see no signs that anyone is planning on doing it.

I was always partial to the Ebonics that was coming out of America back in the mid 80's. Especially the, hooked on Ebonics tapes you could buy. So my vote would go to Ebonics as the official language of the United States of America.

After that I think you should start teaching the English that the rest of the world uses in your schools so your children won't have to keep knocking letters out of words so they are easier to spell and look the way they are pronounced.

it's not a mole hill. about having an official language that is. and i'll be the one making the mountian in the courts. i've got too much time on my hands.

i took it upon myself to try to learn french many years ago. i don't remember any but canada was the place to hunt and fish so i wanted to able to communicate with the people. i'm too old and too busy to learn another language now.

Ok, so ONE guy (in a nation of over 300 million) flew a Mexican flag over a school. He flew it UNDER the flags of the U.S. and the state of Texas, not alone as you'd said before, and he was forced to take it down. This constitutes a crisis in your eyes? :rolleyes:

I'm not refering to the official language, but to the numerous threads about killer Mexican organizations and about government buildings flying Mexican flags and libraries banning english books. The mexican flag flying government building doesn't exist and neither does the no-english book carrying library. Proposals may have been put forth by a small lunatic fringe but if you listen to Ravenna here you would thing that 99.99999% of hispanics are out in the streets burning english books and organizing and Interhamwe style militia to start killing whitey off.

i agree with you. but i know of other mexican organizations including gangs that insist they are going to take "their" land back from the american government. and although people may go overboard on thier views or opinions; (i do); these little trickles that seem to mean nothing seem to have a way of getting out of hand. the us has countless secret militias and tons of arms and ammo stashed; and enough people with the "kill them all and let God sort them out" mentallity so i don't see any take-overs as being realistic.

I'm aware of hispanic organizations with their hispanic power attitude, like Nation of Aztlan and the National Council of La Raza. These people are a minority though and 95% of hispanics pay them no mind. Just like 95% of Anglos pay the KKK no mind.
