    They are both in the wrong.... Jesus, you people are so quick to judge and jump to conclusions. Would you not agree that some freshman chick who gets wasted and fucks some random guy is not a slut? The random guy is an idiot too! But that's just from my perspective - to each his own.

    its not ridiculous. i admitted that it was extreme, but its not ridiculous. someone else used drunk driving as an example, which may have been more appropriate, but my point was that both rape and racism are wrong and blaming either on alcohol is senseless. would you not agree that both are wrong? would you not agree that blaming either on alcohol is wrong?

    hippiemom made a great point. from what we can tell, none of these guys have apologized for their remarks, they are just worried that they were made to look like fools. which i'm sure would have been just as easy to accomplish w/o any alcohol.

    The word 'slut' is a ridiculous term and its use is offensive in so far as it is incredibly sexist, for example, whats the male equivalent? I apologise for the agressive language, that was a rflection of my own immaturity, I jumped the gun.

    ok, then let's see if you're truly consistent... if a girl is drunk at a party, and a girl is harassing her all night for sex, and she's wasted and finally gives in.... should he be convicted of rape? he knew she was drunk. so is her consent then invalid and he should have known that?

    That's not rape, not even close. To the best of their abilities they both gave consent for their immediate actions. But they should and are legally allowed to have sober second thoughts on some long-term consequences of consent while given drunk.
