You have no reason to trust liars and politicians.

We know who the best choices are for 2008 that are still running.

    = Nader/Gonzalez

    That is the right vote.

With their run comes their effect on the Obama/Gore presidency. They will tilt more "left" and get more votes and be more likely to win over the VegiCon.

I do step back and consider the doctrine of 3 ways to get become president.

    1. Steal the Election through voter fraud/media/electronic machines -Bush and McVegi

    2. Run within the 2 undemocratic parties to gain the nomination -Kucinich

    3. Have a voting record of a political sellout but slip in as a honest human minded leader incognito -Obama

The problem with number 3 is thats what folk thought of Bill Clinton.

Who knows. I never trusted Bill but May trust Obama seeing through what is immediately precieved.

I was involved in the race for 12/06--01-08 my patience with the American people is spent.

They don't care, they don't care, even for their right to vote. Pathetic.

Karl Rove could fashion a "revolutionary movement" and they would follow. Did they?

Continue on those who can for the movement of truth, justice and love. That force will crest the wave over the dam. You can save the world if you Save Yourself.

Healthy cells of a body speak clearer amongst themselves.

It is pushing the Issues and History that matter. We can educate.

Nader/Gonzalez is the way to do this other than spreading the word about:

When listening to Air America the other day I heard a feller who was an Obama fan talking about how he saw the move "Fog of War". Quite new to "politics" it made quite an impact on him!

If the Obama movement is infiltrated honestly with the intention to educate and improve we could gain some valuable ground towards truth. Not a presidency but truth. Its a thought.

Most of these people aren't active politically. They aren't doing nothin'. But they are there.

Time to schedule a "house party to raise money for Barack" while watching the movie of Our Choice.

Armed with knowledge we can "Better Obama" or at least his followers.

I hear ya, C! I am so frustrated with Obama supporters for the most part because they seem to mold to fit his stances instead of molding him to fit theirs! And they are the voters....they ones who are supposed to be hiring someone based on what they want to see, not the other way around! C'mon people!!

some people are wasting alot of good energy focusing on "obama supporters" when that energy could be better used else where...

some are also wasting alot of energy on Ralph Nader, he has NO intention of winning, or even coming close

this is one exciting time in America... at least on the Democrat's side... a black man... a woman... a latino... a Senator from Delaware ;)... outspoken peace candidates that are ahead of their time...

Of course the Republicans are coming to the party with the same old white men they usually come with... perhaps they dont realize that the majority of the country is either a woman or a minority... oh well, too bad for them and their 18th century agenda...

waddya folks think? either side?... and dont just say who you support... because the guy i am voting for has no chance it appears (Dennis Kucinich)

nice, disagree though, Edwards is being quiet, but I think for some reason, he is in Hillary's camp. I thought he had far more problems with her than Obama during the debate's.

Not sure who, but I think a Dem Governor might be chosen, but I think Jim Webb would be great, but he has too much baggage I think. I'm a fan of Joe Biden, and I'm not sure how much longer he'll stay in the Senate. I'll go with Webb, though it won't happen.

do agree, that Obama and another will be sworn in as President.

Yes, people should get involved with these things. But that's not the point. Many people that want to be involved with these things already are. Sadly, most people think voting someone else into office will be the answer to all their problems. They aren't interested in these things....like when I posted a petition for HR 676 and a bunch of info on it along with a list of names and ways to contact their representatives, it dropped without any replies. Then finally after it was bumped it got some replies but they mostly included people who were against UHC and some arguing about it with them. People seem to want to hold onto to this line of thinking where someone else is going to fix it all for them because they don't have the time in their lives to do it themselves. So while I know so many people are widely falling into this category, I feel it's quite important to address many misconceptions the public seems to have about their candidate of choice and point out how this person might not do what he says he's going to and if his record, history of accomplishments or special interest contributors are any indication, he probably won't be anywhere close to this leader who will usher in all this change like they seem to think he will. It's important to show you're paying attention to these things and speak out about them in oder to show the govt what we will and won't put up with and that they need to be upfront and honest about themselves or we will be quick to call them out on it. If we sit back and all these misconceptions to flourish then our democracy is in a lot of trouble.

    And what do you think?

As I remember you are pretty good about posting those, as well.

And I'm not the type to write off a form of communication, spreading ideas and information just because it's the 'in thing' to criticize people about now. Lots of good info can be passed along and that DOES make a positive difference in the world. Awareness is a good thing. Simply being a youtube clip, blog or link to a site doesn't make it good, bad or a waste of time alone....the substance inside them does. So to me, this argument is silly. People can create progress in many various methods and outlets. To me it's promising that people are even bothering instead of playing their wii or watching american idol. I'm all for taking in all the info that out there and deciding for yourself what you believe. If you don't like what you see then debate the substance of the info not the medium it was presented in.

sure, it can be good. it can be helpful, and i am all for the spreading of information. but it gets a tad ridiculous sometimes. half the threads on the MT have a youtube link in the first sentence. overkill i guess... and the whole "i am enlightened because i watched loose change" attitude i see sometimes is a bit ridiculous... they are around here as well, not you by any means, but there are a few...

This argue has to be one of the oldest and most tired ones on this board. I remember the cons pulling it when we'd post stuff on Bush.....'Oh no, not information!!!' 'Can't you think for yourself?!'

Then the minute someone posts some opinion with any facts to back it up it's 'Link please?' 'Where's the source?' 'Where did you get that idea'

I post links, I friggin adore youtube and have many favorite sites that I share. But I also post my thoughts in plenty of detail here all the time.

So I still say argue the substance...not what form it happens to come in.

However remember Edwards is already tainted as a losing Veep candidate. Probably nt going to happen. If Obama wins he would be well advised to find someone who has some military expeirence like Jim Webb and/or someone can help him shore up his problems in the West and Northeast.
