so what's the fuckin' issue...?
I understand you don't want to watch it...and that's your fucking choice...just read through this thread, and you'll see good points, pro and con...
I say the vids explain some things...however, since you haven't seen them, you can't understand that point...
The issue is not that you've watch it or not, the issue is that they've aired it, and if the families are truely against those tape being aired (something i didn't know), it's even more disgusting, it's pure 2007 modern world bullshit. Now the fact that you, personnaly, want to watch it, is not an issue at all, once it's available, people will watch it, and that's exaclty what the killer wanted."L'homme est né libre, et partout il est dans les fers"

i surely dont need to see his video to know he was fucking crazy.0 -
inmytree wrote:did he...?
do you know that...?
hey, listen, don't watch...turn the tv when it comes on...
it's not that hard...
hmmm, yes yes duh... he send the tapes to NBC, cause he didn't want you to see this, it's pointless to make it personal by the way..."L'homme est né libre, et partout il est dans les fers"

this is one madman getting his wish, airing his lunacy for the world to see after he slaughters innocent people.
the horrors of war should be shown, to see the devastaion WE are causing, not to glorify it, or for media sensationalism.
and quite frankly, i think it is disgusting of you to make this a partisan issue and tie it into the anti war effort.
I am just pointing out your hypocrisy and asking why it is okay in one instance but not in the other.0 -

I'm serious, is it what he wanted...?
we can assume...but we don't know, unless of course there was something in the package that said "I want the world watch this" and if so, I stand corrected...
listen...I feel for the families, please know that...in this situation, there are no winners...NBC did their job...which is to relate news...we can't pick and chose what is news....
heck, he had mailed it to Fox, CBS, CNN, or any other major media outlet, they would have done the same...0 -
my2hands wrote:your kidding right? why else would he tape it and send it to NBC? i think it is safe to assume he wanted people to watch his bullshit.
its not rocket science
no, I'm not fucking kidding...how about that one..?
honestly, I have no idea why he sent it to NBC...I can assume....0 -
josevolution wrote:good post exactly why not tell the families about the plan to air it we know why because all of them would of dissagreed and told NBC NOT TO SHOW THIS ASSHOLE ,again people put your selves in the shoes of the families ......
I'm actually pretty good at putting myself in other people's shoes and if one of my kids were a victim of this type of thing, I would want to know anything and everything about their killer. Seeing a video like this one would be fine.
Of course he was looney but I can't help but wonder why. He mentioned paedophilia...was he molested? Did he want to molest? really...wtf happened here?0 -

you are over thinking this. it is not worth debating. he OBVIOUSLY wanted to people to watch this. period. if you dont get that then i dont know what to tell you.0 -
damn, people...
how about this one...
if you don't like it...don't watch...boycott NBC, and watch on another channel...
how does that sound...? too easy, I know...0 -

then quit trying...
while you may see it as OBVIOUS...I don't
I saw a very disturbed person, who committed a heinous act...who was OBVIOUSLY not thinking clearly...
what did you see....?0 -
who the hell didnt think this guy was obviously mentally ill before the news told you???0

1. you shouldnt make this a personal attack on me, how the fuck am i being a hypocrite?
2. you shouldnt spin this into your little pro-war stance, it is quite ridiculous and pathetic
3. if you cant see the difference between airing the ramblings of a lunatic as he brandishes the weapons used the day after he kills 33 people, and airing the horrors of war that we have caused, and continue to cause. then i dont know what to tell you, and quite frankly you are so far off base it isnt even worth debating any futher.
some people really do enjoy koolaid i guess?0 -

Sure we can only assume, but in the end, that's "probably" what he wanted to do by sending these tapes to one of the most watched medias.
I agree that any other medias would have done the same, in fact they're all showing it now. But again, the guy was mentally ill, what he had in mind is close to impossible to figure out, but the people taking decision at NBC (or any other medias that would have got the tapes) are not mentally ill and should have taken the decision to respect, first, the families will, but they choose to air it cause it brings rating and rating bring publicity revenue, it's even a huge free publicity for them in every other medias, who are probably jealous for not getting those tapes. That i'm only assuming of course."L'homme est né libre, et partout il est dans les fers"

Where does Animus' theory come in that this was already in the cards for these people and there was nothing they could do to change that? You've changed your place in this world!0

but news is news, grandma....
death and murder happens, sadly on a regular basis....
should the next time someone dies, should the news not cover it out of "respect for the families"...? should they only cover feel-good things...
no one seems to be upset at the Smoking Gun, who posted his play....why is that different...?
sadly, news is news...and people with watch and read...because at the end of the day...we are all voyeurs...0 -

macgyver06 wrote:who the hell didnt think this guy was obviously mentally ill before the news told you???
It's important to understand just how ill he was.... there are different degrees.
there's a difference between stabbing someone once and stabbing someone 147 times.
was he just a little wacky and then one-day snapped or was he a full-blown nut job? There is a huge area in-between and the video shows just how disturbed he was.0
